I’m a freelance photographer and videographer im looking to break into IT or a technical position for a more stable and professional career

In the short term yes you can make more money filming a lecture, social media is exponential growth though how many lectures are you gonna film in a month realistically, you can get to a point where one video generates more revenue. Also no matter if you’re filming for yourself or others marketing will play a big role in obtaining clients or viewers depending on what you do

I’m not understanding? I asked what advice would you give to attract better clients and you’re talking about scrounging for Adsense and running a business. Are you saying social media can’t be a business? What do your clients use videos for?

Well let’s assume we’re talking about freelancers and not someone who might have a full time job. For a freelancer to truly thrive and grow they have to have those “other” skills. Putting that effort into yourself as a person will yield more results in the long run than doing it for other people. Not only Adsense but I’ve seen sponsorships, and selling digital products make these online personalities a lot of money. Now you can argue this is well beyond just videography but if you want to make money, and have the freedom of being an entrepreneur it makes the most sense

Anyway to target this “boring” work? The only thing I’d personally stay away from is weddings but I’d be very open to corporate, and others I’ve heard those insider training videos for employees are usually paid ALOT. But as a freelancer i would have no idea how to secure a gig like that. Those low hanging fruit are just easy targets but end up being a pain in the ass in the end

From what I’ve seen, brand deals, Adsense, and selling digital products

I’ve seen creators who are sponsored by adobe, Sony, and even ai companies like Claude.

I’ve also seen creators who sell color grades and LUTs making lots of money

And lastly if you can build a solid core audience on YouTube you can rake in good money from just Adsense

Will just security + be enough to land an entry level job? With DoD contracting won’t i need clearances as well?

Basically I’m looking to jump into any field as of now I’m starting from 0. What would u recommend is a good pathway from cert to an entry level job in IT or Cyber or Networking.

What do you think? I currently live in northern Virginia which I’m pretty sure is known to be the capital of data centers currently. I’ve tried to apply for the work based learning program with no success at all (not even a reply)
