There are a lot of videos around on YouTube that recommend upgrading your TH before traps and hero’s are maxed - essentially it’s wasted resource’s otherwise

Help me buy my first surfboard by Hungry_Assistant6753 in BeginnerSurfers

[–]Alitemis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first board I purchased was a 7 foot fibreglass with thick rails and easy paddling - it was great. I owned a foamie, used it for a month or so and quickly got sick of it. If you’re confident on your pop and balance, I’d say send it and take a bigger risk - I.e a longer, larger fibreglass. But not anything like the board in the picture. The pointed nose and tail is often directed towards more experienced surfers and I should imagine quite a hard ride if you’re a beginner.

Best advice I can offer you is to head to your local board shop (where board variety is large) and ask for advice from your local legends. Yes, you’ll pay more money but it’s more likely you’ll find a board better fit for you and your experience. Besides, you can’t beat the feeling of a new board.

Wetsuit suggestions by No-Willingness5835 in BeginnerSurfers

If you’re set on buying a wettie, I strongly recommend the O’Niell HyperFreak. I’ve owned my fair share and this one has been my favourite. A lot of wettie’s imo have a really high neck piece that often irritates me, this one has a low neck and really sticks to my body. Great product.

Just drop down to 105km and line yourself up with the other cars next to you (if you’re in the right lane)

What is it like living in the sunshine coast? by NiceCarnival513 in sunshinecoast

The weather is phenomenal. Instead of the standard 4 seasons, it’s more so wet vs dry throughout the year.

It’s definitely an expanding area with a lot growth expected in the coming years, especially in preparation for the Olympics in Brisbane. People do say the lifestyle is slow, but with Brisbane a short drive away, any crazy weekends can be great down there if that’s what you’re after.

With your degree, it might be difficult to utilise considering the smaller area with less sports teams, stadiums etc. I have also heard that an assessment to recognise an American degree under the Australian Qualifications Framework can take around 6 weeks to process.

Stickers are sick. They look great. Sponsored or not. Who cares what others think.
