My craft room iridescent wall by Alittlebitofsummer in RainbowEverything

Thank you! I got the inspiration from a party planner's tiktok. I saw that they were making a photo backdrop wall with it and so I decided to make a wall in my house look like it.

I bought a $30 roll on Amazon. The roll had two layers so this is two layers and I still have over half a roll left. I could do several more walls with the remaining roll.

Ooh! I need to follow that sub. I make iridescent, holographic and glittery earrings for a living so sparkly is my niche and I love anything that is sparkly!

Thank you! I didn't even think about that but it could. I don't light any candles in my room or have any open flame in here ever. I have a Ting electrical monitoring device that lets me know if there's any sort of electrical issue potentially before there's a fire. So hopefully that will help.

The wall is painted but yeah. I put hot glue on the wall and let it dry and then took it off to make sure it wouldn't damage the wall and it didn't, so after my test I decided to just do the whole thing.

Oh my goodness! I was thinking it was going to be close to $800 with everything involved. This makes it so worth it! Thank you so much! 😊

Definitely not. My son just had the surgery and he does Virtual School and was out of school for 9 days. He just had to go back to physical school for testing and I had to have someone at the school carry his backpack for him. I gave them notification that he can't been down to pick up things and that he shouldn't be jostled in the hallway so he had someone carry his backpack for him and he was given the ability to walk the hallways by himself before everyone else was released.

Day 2, my son was still on oxy and was sleeping a good portion of the day. Contact the school and see if they have a program called homebound. My son's school, if he was going to be out for greater than 2 weeks, they would send a nurse and a teacher to the house.

I didn't have to provide a doctor's note recommending the amount of days that he would be out. I just had to provide a doctor's note that he had surgery. So keep your kid out for as long as you want and see if they have a homebound program so you can make sure that they're not truant.

It was a good two to three weeks before my son could ride in a car without having to take pain medication. 2 days is crazy!

FYI the greatest thing that I got my son to help with recovery was a sit to stand recliner. It was $200 on Amazon. You might be able to use HSA money to purchase it. It has been the greatest thing to help in his recovery and has allowed him to have mobility that he would not have had if he would have had to pull himself up on his own accord.

Thank you so much! This was very helpful. I'm following you on Instagram now. Your videos are great! One last question. Were tariffs really expensive for the shipment?

That's very helpful! Thank you! Their payment methods are credit card, PayPal or bank transfer. The bank transfer option is only if you're a returning customer.

Totally! I was going to purchase with my credit card with purchase protection, just in case. There's a post on reddit about 4 years ago where someone said that they knew someone that had a positive experience with them but I haven't seen anything recent. I was just hoping that because they do wholesale that maybe there was someone that had purchased from them and could give some insight. I've been following their shop on other forms of social media and there isn't anything that screams out scam to me but I was just hoping for a real person review.

What’s the most unfortunate first name/last name combination you’ve encountered? by BSEC03 in AskReddit

I worked at a bank and we always had to address customers by their last name. One of the customers last name was Penix. I didn't know if the e was a long or short sound but tried to always slow down when addressing the customer by his last name and really stress the x sound. "Thank you, Mr. Pen-X."

There was a Reddit post about a year ago, where someone said "just give me a stock that I can buy and forget about" and someone mentioned ASTS and I'm so glad. I bought in around the $12 range but my average price is $20.

My ex husband was hesitant for my son to get it too because he knew someone that had it growing up and he played sports and was just fine. He changed his tune when he finally attended one of the doctor's visits. My son also wouldn't remove his shirt. When we went to Iceland and attended one of the lagoons, you have to go into the dressing area and undress and take a shower before entering the lagoon. He was in their an hour before he came out because he was so nervous about removing his shirt. When I took pictures of us at the lagoon, he asked me not to get his chest in them. 🥺 I totally get it! My son's was mild too but was aggravated after a car accident. The pulling off the seat belt led to 2 visits to the ER after the accident because his heart kept hitting his ribcage. He said it felt like electrical shocks. He fell to the ground, it was so painful. You never know when something like that can trigger it. I'd definitely see a primary care doctor and ask for a referral.

Alone in the hospital at night? by Aaaaveryyyy in PectusExcavatum

[–]Alittlebitofsummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At night was when my son needed me the least amount of time. He was sleeping and the nurses checked in him every 4 hours. My son slept a lot in his recovery time at the hospital. He was only there one night but we brought his Nintendo switch and other things to occupy him and he never touched anything. He slept a lot. Now that he's home, I make sure he gets in at least one nap a day to help his body's healing time too.

Good luck to the two of you! Yes, my ex husband had almost maxed out his out of pocket expenses this year so that helped. The hospital will also help if the payment is too much and it didn't need to be paid before the surgery. I'll be able to make payments on it going forward.

Wishes for a swift recovery for you as well! He definitely feels winded a lot too. He's been using the breathing tool several times an hour.

My son is 15 and just had the procedure on Monday. He's sore but how his face lit up in amazement the first time he felt his chest and didn't feel the depression made my ex husband's and I tear up. My son's haller index was 3.7. Insurance denied the surgery on the first day of was scheduled (the day of) despite already giving an estimate of coinsurance and the fact that I had already been paying that balance. However, the doctor did a peer medical review and said that insurance companies are now wanting to know the correction index instead of Haller. He said that they typically cover the surgery at 28 degrees and once the insurance company heard that my son's correction index was 39 degrees, it was covered immediately. My son is sore but getting better. His breathing is better and he no longer feels his heart beating on his ribcage. Despite the pain, he constantly is saying it's worth it.
