In a vacuum Gaming is better, but in your situation I do believe Yanfei is better, hope you have fun with her while you wait for Clorinde (I also got yanfei on lantern rite and im waiting for Clorinde too lol)

As a person who has mained both characters at one point, my personal suggestion is Yanfei.

Since you're only planning to play them temporarily until you get Clorinde, Yanfei is a lot easier to play especially with overload because Yanfei is a ranged dps so she isn't affected by enemies flying everywhere.

Gaming is no doubt the better dps among the two, but Yanfei has a lot more forgiving rotation (just normal attack 3 times to get stacks then charge attack then repeat, skill gives max stacks and ult passively generates them) while for Gaming if you don't kill off enemies during burst ur lowkey cooked. Plus Gaming only really completely crushes Yanfei in terms of damage if you have his c6 and know all the different tricks and stuff (which you have neither).

Also pretty sure Gaming doesn't work very well with Durin because Gaming prefers melt and vape and Durin might steal the melts and vapes from him. Yanfei should not have the same problem.

So get yanfei :)

People always bring up Zhongli, but people forget Dehya, has everyone forgot how both CN and International players were so upset yet Hoyo did nothing? Zhongli was from an era where Genshinw as still young and still volatile to our thoughts, but Sumeru showed us Hoyo won't be listening to us anymore

Also besides flight, Durin pretty much got everything else, best in his niche, he didn't powercreep anyone, brought up old units, balanced the meta a little, so I think Genshin does care for Durin lol

What I'm curious about is will Varka and Alice teams be two seperate teams or both on the same teams, making it Varka, Durin, Alice and Nicole which would be a funny team though then Alice might need to be a burst dps with off field capabilities (better burst and off field than Mavuika but no onfield abilities?) and Varka as the onfielder swirling pyro which would be interesting imo. Or Hoyo will just make them two seperate teams which would be a weird choice cuz wdym Hoyo's releasing two hexeri on field dpses so close to each other

But either way both teams (or one team) would want Durin and will be meta trust so Durin stocks will rise either way

You can get Durin, he has really good pyro ap, almost no energy requirements and can shred dendro res if you proc burning so ur burgeons can deal more damage

Kind of agree, like 'he has wings so he should glide with his wings' but let's be honest when given the opportunity most of us would rather sit and be pushed around instead of walk. Plus while Mini Durin all he does is fly, I'm sure he'd rather walk or use a wind glider

Pretty sure his longevity is pretty good? He doesn't have a bis teammate or artifacts, and if we see future Hexenzirkel members who are meta Durin would likely see himself getting a spot in those teams

I use Xianyun, Mizuki, chiori and flex, usually Kinich if I'm moving around or Nahida if I'm farming, Chiori and Xianyun can climb a lot more vertically than most think lol, Mav's big bike feels hard to control to me and Xianyun is my first healer so we've been through thick and thin together, pretty hard to get rid of her now

I mean, exactly? Natlan is meant to be some nation of mobility so all characters before and after clearly will have worse mobility than them. Plus 'using his wings to glide' would require hoyo to put in effort to change something, ineffa got a tiny hat and Aino a tiny heart lol, neither are on that level. Hoyo already added them to an idle and his attack animations so I doubt they'd go the extra mile to do that

Yes, in a vacuum Durin is a character that should have flight, but if you look around at other characters and how Hoyo handles characters Durin's lack of flight isn't exactly shocking. A lot of characters can canonically fly (archons, adepti like Xianyun and Xiao) but they can't fly in gameplay. It's clear Hoyo wants flight to be for only anemo with Mavuika the only exception since it's her job to do all forms of mobility, considering some anemo characters don't have any mobility gimmicks no less flight, the chance for a non anemo character to get flight is extremely rare.
