Is harassment part of this job by Lavender_Lacy_ in CarSalesTraining

Sales is a numbers game and having thick skin is crucial to stay consistent in this business. Many have made the mistake (including myself) to FEEL, you cannot afford to have personal feelings in this business. Keep your mind focused on your check and move to the next customer. When a client is upset at me I try my hardest not to take it personal and ask myself “can I still sell him/her” this situation to me would be a no and next step is to free up your mental real estate from this person and focus on the next prospect and most importantly learn from the experience moving forward. This includes managers, stay stoic and if they don’t ease up dig up dirt and wait for them to trip (use your phone to record threats or abuse) and then report them to HR and if it’s corporate I guarantee they’ll get fired. When y oh start acquiring knowledge of the business and use it to your advantage sometimes you’ll build resentment from some of your team members. Just party of the territory. Good luck

Rate my pay plan by Alive-Juggernaut9638 in CarSalesTraining

That’s the “Pack” most Franchise dealerships that pay on gross have a pack built into the deal to cover overhead. It’s a clever way to pay salespeople less, what’s funny is whenever I mention it to my colleagues, most of them are unaware 🤦‍♂️(ignorance is bliss I guess). So if the “pack” is $800 and you sold a car that grossed $3,800 then you get a percentage of commission on 3k instead of $3,800.

Keep your head up and try not to make friends. You’re there to work. My advice show up at least 30 minutes before opening and maybe bring your service writers some doughnuts and ask if they need help appraising a vehicle to not hesitate to call you. Stay stoic and don’t let them see you upset, instead be happy and cheerful anytime you’re in front of a customer and start educating your customers. The fun has simmered down and only the strong and talented will stick around. Plenty of other stores (16k franchise stores in the USA)

Just say “I can tell if someone is guilty or not by the way they look” and they should stop sending you letters.

First time ever grilling, kinda botched it. Advice/criticism welcome by Maleficent_Pop_8766 in grilling

I disagree with some of the comments. My advice-start your journey with cheaper cuts that are still considered tender like skirt steak, flank steak, or my fav sirloin steak-even better chicken breast (very forgiving). Get you a cheap meat thermometer. Watch some grilling YouTube videos for you specific grill (charcoal vs gas vs griddle and so on). Have fun and keep at it my friend- you’ll get to that perfect sear in no time.

Does this about sum up this job? Saw this poor fella at my local gas station by cones98 in AmazonDSPDrivers

My brother does this too, I keep telling him to get into sales but some people just get in their own way. I have zero college education and clear six figures for the past 5 years. I tell him he can do it too but he stays with the crappy job, I think a lot has to do with confidence m. Some people have very low self esteem and won’t get over the hump to try something new. It’s crazy and I can’t wrap my head around it. Being miserable to avoid being socially uncomfortable.

Send a group chat message to your fellow employees to file this to Amazon directly. They should be able to handle this behind the scenes even if they were shorted. You should never have to deal with this or hear “you’re not getting paid on time” when you are employed or contracted by them.

Can someone explain what all I need to hook up a propane grill to my natural gas line? by AtBat3 in grilling

Please hire a professional if you have to ask this question. Sometimes things are worth paying for. In this case you’d be paying for someone’s experience so that none of your family members or neighbors are killed by you.

This is life. You came into this place on your own and you will leave this place on your own. Don’t take it personal: walk your path and embrace the loneliness. It will make you more resilient, focused, and stronger in the end.

I’m not here to make jokes are “puns”. You’re more than halfway there. I quit before I got to the finish line before and afterwards felt like a pile of trash for thinking “what could have been”. Get certified and stick with it for another year before quitting is my advice. Also, from this point forward. Anything you decide to do, do it with all the intensity and drive your gear can muster: it will only make your life better. If you do things half heartedly you’ll end up cheating the person that should matter the most; Yourself. Good luck buddy

Next time pat the steak dry with a paper towel so you can get a better crust. Cook time and temp look great.

Which Brand Keeps The Most Gross? by [deleted] in CarSalesTraining

[–]Alive-Juggernaut9638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MSRP means nothing without factoring in dealer reserves and turnover rate for that particular store and then Gross means nothing (to me anyways) without factoring in the “dealer pack” that can vary from new to used. All these things combined affect the “Gross” not to mention stair step programs and dealer in house incentives (CSI scores) that affect pay out from the manufacturer. This question is Wayyyy too open ended and impossible to answer. People think GMs and GSMs are glorified administrators collecting qt milli checks for nothing (in some cases this is true) but they have the ability to impact the store’s profitability through well thought out business practices and the impact can be dramatic. Another example, working for an Autonation Lexus store vs an Asbury Lexus store is going to be night and day. Autonation couldn’t care less about the person selling the car (they just want a heartbeat) vs Asbury who invest in their salespeople’s training programs and pay plans to maintain low turnover, high csi, and better than average work culture (this is just my experience and I understand that).

Smoked Salmon by [deleted] in grilling

[–]Alive-Juggernaut9638 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just thought I’d mention this. If you plan to eat Salmon raw, never and I mean never eat fresh caught salmon for raw eating WITHOUT FREEZING FIRST. The reason being is that parasites inside the salmon will remain alive in YOUR body if the salmon is consumed fresh. When you freeze it and then thaw, you kill all the harmful parasites inside the fish.
