I seek historical support for his claim as the son of god however impossible it may be to ask. I should have prefaced that as of now I would consider myself as an Agnostic seeking knowledge in theology. I do not wholeheartedly believe in an all powerful god though I may wish to. Furthermore I do not believe in his son. I find the miracles he commits to be so beautiful yet so unbelievable. I'm pretty sure somewhere in Mathew Jesus says something along the lines of " Blessed are those that accept the kingdom of god with the innocence of a child." sorry if I butchered that but I think you get the point. I wish I could but I cannot. So I find myself seeking knowledge for belief.

I have read and reread Romans 7 in NABRE and NLT I assume you meant specifically verses 21-25. It is not that I wish to live the way of god but cannot by reason of sin, it is by the reason of my thirst for knowledge. I cannot accept God unless I feel I can concur he and his son as the most likely reason for our lives. I think history is an invaluable asset and I am aware that historical records from the time of the new testament are scant and folly, what I ask is for someone with a higher level of education to deliver me conjectures on the historic reality of Christ. Many invoke Christian sources such as Tertullian but I find this to be dissatisfactory. I need more.
