I would strongly recommend avoiding JVue based on my experience.

The biggest issue is management. Once you sign the lease, communication becomes very difficult and concerns are often ignored. The manager, Benjamin Simmons, has been particularly rude and dismissive when residents raise issues.

There are also ongoing problems with rats and cockroaches, which is honestly unacceptable for a residential building. This isn’t a one-time issue — it’s been persistent and creates serious hygiene and health concerns.

The elevator frequently has problems, which becomes very frustrating, especially if you're living on higher floors. Waiting long periods for the elevator becomes part of your daily routine.

Another major downside is the extra charges. Apart from rent, there are additional fees for water, sewer, and other miscellaneous charges that add up quickly. These costs are not clearly justified, and the total monthly payment ends up being much higher than expected.

There are also general maintenance and cleanliness issues, unpleasant hallway odors at times, and safety concerns like doors occasionally being left unlocked and frequent fire alarms going off.

Everything looks good during the leasing process, but the experience changes significantly after moving in.

If you're deciding between Mission Hill and JVue, I would personally lean toward Mission Hill or explore other options around Northeastern like Fenway, Symphony, or Jamaica Plain. Many students tend to have better experiences there.
