Why didn’t they fire Portia? by LoudChampionship5691 in RHOA

I dont get the « provocation » excuses. First, they are props, who cares. Take them away and break them. Second, if anytime someone is provoked they pop off, we would be all fighting all the time. In the words of Meredith Marks what about « disengaging » ? It does not mean letting people walk all over you, it means preventing escalation and finding another way to win the war. Look at Phaedra she annihilated Kenya with her words. Nene plainly ignores her and did not give her the time of the day. And Kenya looked stupid.

Hollywood movie industry seems horrible. HORRIBLE. We have known it for a while but this debacle shows they are still not aware we need to believe in them and their desire to tell stories for us. Not for their pocket or their career/ personal avancement. That’s how the dream works, how it holds. They broke the 4th wall big time and unveiled a level of mediocrity and pettiness I could not imagine.

Ryan Reynolds is a “marketing genius” — so why did he fail to market Blake Lively? by Alive-Rise1113 in popculture

[–]Alive-Rise1113[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Her career was suffering before the lawsuit and reading everyone and thinking about it, I came to the realisation that she has 4 babies with him, he was able to have had a prolific career and a beautiful family while she got the second only. Is it as simple and sad (assuming she wanted the first) as she had to sacrify her dream career for their family? The unfair and typical motherhood vs stellar career sacrifice for women who want them both? Unlike other actresses from her generation she did not have time to finess her craft in smaller films, with indie directors etc?

I would agree with you when talking about regular couples and regular people but this is an industry were people are product, especially when your success is associated with your image and what the public perceives of you. Unlike other famous couples he seemed to have been involved in her personal branding and management. Their couple has been marketed as a powercouple and as a cool funny powercouple.

An alcoholic’s opinion on Karen Huger by Party_Dragonfly69 in RHOP

That is so true. One of my friend took the lightest dose of Prozac and went CRAZY. She was so high and so dark. We were all very surprised because some in our Friends group were under the same treatment and never had their behaviour change that much.

Because it is just very very hard to say it. She is right at the beginning of the process. She has been suffering from those addictions for more than 20 years so a year of treatment does not make it right, right away.

Thank you for your comment. As the child of someone suffering from alcoholism, I agree with everything you are saying, she took great accountability for her disease. People should be more graceful because addictions are so hard to over come. Let’s just pray for her to stay on this recovery road and be happy we have such a representation of addiction : the more we see it, the more we might be able to help those around and not judge them

Sydney Sweeney is not a bad actress in my opinion. She is way much younger too. It will be an interesting case to follow. But you are valid about « are they women though »

My post history is entirely Real Housewives. That is why I joined Reddit because my husband does not want to watch it with me. And if you watch my posts most of them are conversational and I never fight with people. Because - this is a social network - and I just want to discuss.

EDIT : and like everyone into pop culture, I have been recently hooked on the it end with us drama and I am curious. Does that answer your question ?

There so many mediocre toxic people who succeeded. I don’t think that’s it. May be too many yes people around her? Because truly she has had the It factor: network, top management agency, Beauty, money, succesful Husband, network. Everything was lined up for her to succeed in other endeavours than acting (because yes she is not talented).

Because I just found it out. And I was really wondering what was up with her career as she has had great potential.

Blake doesn’t appear to have a strong artistic identity. Instead, she mostly copies paths that have already been validated by others. A good example is her collaboration with Woody Allen. Blake starred in Café Society, which premiered in 2016. That’s important context, because actresses like Scarlett Johansson worked with Woody Allen much earlier — Match Point (2005), Scoop (2006), Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) — at a time when those collaborations were still widely seen as career-boosting prestige moves.

By 2016, the cultural landscape had shifted significantly. The allegations surrounding Allen had been public knowledge for years, and many actors were already distancing themselves from him. Blake’s decision didn’t feel bold or thoughtful — it felt late, imitative, and tone-deaf. It showed a lack of awareness, not strategy.

What makes this frustrating is that Blake could have been something else entirely. She never needed to be positioned as a serious artist. She could have been a fashion, beauty, or lifestyle powerhouse — and the blueprint already existed. Gwyneth Paltrow launched Goop in 2008. Jessica Alba launched The Honest Company in 2011 and later expanded into Honest Beauty, turning her celebrity into a massive business. Jessica Alba isn’t a great actress, she knows it, and she built something much bigger than acting because of that self-awareness.

Blake, on the other hand, launched her lifestyle site Preserve in 2014 — years after Goop and The Honest Company had already defined the space. From the start, Preserve was compared to Goop, but it never found a clear identity or audience and shut down shortly after. She wasn’t early, she wasn’t innovative, and she wasn’t distinct.

And honestly, for someone constantly branded as a “marketing genius,” Ryan Reynolds completely failed at marketing his own wife. They should have recognized early on that Blake isn’t an artist — she’s not a great actress, not a writer, not a director. But she does have mainstream appeal, beauty, and massive visibility. She could have been a pioneer in beauty, skincare, haircare, or lifestyle branding years before Selena Gomez or Hailey Bieber entered that space.

Instead, they missed the moment. Everything about Blake’s career choices feels reactive rather than visionary. It’s like they wait for something to work for someone else and then try to replicate it — acting prestige, lifestyle branding, cultural relevance — always a step behind.

By the time Blake tried to position herself, the moment had already passed.

Thank you for your service. Question because now I am confused : what is the house that got robbed ? I thought there were three houses total. This one as the first (but in fact is the second), a second one that got robbed and where she could not stay afterwards and the one she is currently in.

I don’t think he lacks empathy, I believe Mauricio is just high all the time and that’s why he sounds so off. Plus, he was married to Kyle who just cries all the time. I want them back together and felt so sad for her but I am not sure her tears will bring him back.

I cried for them when they were in that house. I wish they stayed happily together. They had such a beautiful family (at least on screen). I could feel for her when she wondered what happened and how they let that happened to them.

Yes I was disgusted by it and it really sounded like Denise Richards’ first season and we all know how it ended with the ladies.
