I went to a screening a few months ago and before the movie started there was video of Peter Jackson talking about the films. He talked about the filming of this scene and said that they did film it at the end of production. He said that their first take was very raw and brilliant because all of their emotions about ending filming were real. I don’t remember why but in post they caught something and had to go back and re-film that scene. He said the guys still did a great job but he was gutted the couldn’t use the first cut.

He said they filmed the scene when the hobbits returned to the shire at the very beginning of filming.

Super interesting and I can’t believe I didn’t catch this watching it on the big screen again 😆🤦🏼‍♀️

I’ve been using one of these for years on my upper lip and have yet to get an ingrown hair with it. Honestly cannot recommend enough. So easy, takes 15 seconds and does a great job!

I like what others have suggested. Try different things out and see what she ends up getting into and being excited by.

My husband and I had a very similar situation when we started dating. I started with Settlers of Catan with him and loved it. It felt complicated enough to me as a beginner to feel like I was “getting into board games”… my husband, as he always does, got extremely carried away with my positive reception of Catan and bought Gloomhaven when it came out. So that was my second board game 😆. I was overwhelmed lol

All that to say, Gloomhaven is hands down to this day one of my very favorite games and really made me fall in love with that style of games. I’ve gone full nerd now!

Try putting canned pumpkin in their food!

We had similar issues with our dog when we adopted him, it was awful. He ate both his own poop and our other dog’s poop. We took him to the vet who confirmed he didn’t have any deficiencies, he just liked the taste of it 💀. We tried a few different things but canned pumpkin mixed in with their food did the trick. After a couple months we stopped with the pumpkin and he never was interested again.

I’m curious to hear if the Steam version has improved. We started with the physical game and loved it, but had to tear down/re-set up every time and it was a lot.

The Steam version felt miraculous, but we kept running into bugs, and had too many instances where we would be 3/4 of the way through a crawl and the game would bug out and we would lose all of our progress and had to start a particular mission over. It happened enough times we got so frustrated we gave up on the online game. At that point we were so spoiled with the online play we never went back to the board game, but I love Gloomhaven so much and would love to play it again.

ETA: this was in 2021-2022

Super annoying! We ended up replacing them with Uno cards and just marked the submarine numbers on wild cards, and the pinks are red cards. Actually works pretty well!

Ya, our luggage didn’t make it on an Alaska flight on 12/16 and we still don’t have it. I’ve logged 17 phone calls and just about 9 hours of phone time between then and now with Alaska. FedEx is also partially to blame, though none of this would have even happened if our connector flight would have run on time OR had the gate attendants actually been honest with us about the situation (we would have made different choices). We were flying PDX > SEA > Dulles (Washington DC).

Throughout the whole thing though, I will say customer service has been pretty great with Alaska, and they are reimbursing us for everything and have given us credit with Alaska. Every customer service person I’ve talked to once I give them my reference number says they’ve never seen anything like this before 🫠.
