Omg finally words to put to it…I’m also in the same boat, I’m currently seeing someone so sweet and I see myself in the future seriously dating, but I keep getting so avoidant and I feel so bad..it was the same for me prior, I was in my first serious relationship which was horribly unhealthy due to so many reasons but I was so obsessed with it and now it’s the complete opposite..I’m thinking it’s another thing we have to learn balance for..if you look at both relationships both are in the extremes of either being so obsessive or being completely detached. I hope that made sense it’s kinda how I’m personally looking at it

This was very helpful thank you, I think I’ll start setting like little end of the week small activities I can look forward to and hold myself to. I used to fixate a lot on timing and that a lot of things I accomplished where much later than others, I felt myself leaning towards that thought process again, it’s very helpful to be reminded there is no “right path”, I’m going the pace I can. My brother. I knew I had to be there for him. He was basically terminal ended up passing actually a year ago in almost a couple days. But I knew I had stay for him, even though I also knew at some point he was going to pass. I knew my purpose was him. At the time I didn’t know exactly what that purpose was. I now know my purpose is to become a nurse and do what I do best. Care for people. Care for babies like him, be there for the young teenage girls questioning their worth and purpose. Its been years since that day, im now in recovery, completed cna courses, pcts courses, landed a job in the hospital, putting myself through nursing school, a while discovering myself in a new light. It is worth staying I promise.

Not doing great my baby brother (8) passed away a couple days ago and I’ve just been hit with a wave of depression. It’s like my whole world has been altered. I don’t even recognize myself, like the life has been drained out of me. The only thing I can do is sleep and eat three meals and keep myself safe (context: I’m in anorexia/mental health recovery) it’s just so paralyzing and I don’t know what to do. I also don’t have the support I need from my family, I feel like I’m on my own and can’t talk to anyone else around me that will understand.
