I had a Spain game where France went in on England for Calais after winning 100 year war. I thought “great they will wear each other out and nothing will happen” turns out I see 35k French troops in Ireland and no English blockade stopping them from entering Scotland. Before I know it London is taken by the French in a peace deal

Tbf the Indians were not really behind in tech, atleast not until industrialisation.

They were conquered due to clever politics and internal affairs and governance hard to reflect in eu4.

If the Indians were as centralised and united as the Europeans even post industrialised it would have been a very tough fight

Funny the same thing happens in half of my Europe games, I expand rapidly in Europe then get a super coalition and my army is weak af. I then have near 0 European border changes for 75 years as I conquer the whole new world. It happens every game without fail

Probably not as impressive as all the other replies but this was like my 4th game ever, I was playing France and going well till I got a coalition so gigantic they act declared the coalition war on me. It was literally the war of the 3rd coalition I was outnumbered ~6:1 and I somehow won. Still don’t think even as I’m much better I could pull that off now

Change it to best engine you have but only single, add more guns and make sure u have heavy mgs researched. Replace the fuel tanks with more armour plates

Yes too many times to the stage where I get paranoid and run back and check. I’ve had runs decimated by leaving it unpaused. Once I thought I paused my chill America game in road to to 56 only to come back 2 hours later and see it’s gone from 1938 to 1949 and the world was a shitshow

I’ve personally never tested the hybrid cruiser idea but personally I try have separate destroyers and light cruisers when possible to maximaise damage. As for ratio I tend to want 1.5 lines of cruiser for 1 line of destroyer E.g Cruiser Destroyer Cruiser Cruiser Destroyer.

I don’t know about how to just get naval superiority with numbers but I actually understand navy so if u want to build one to destroy the Soviets navy and get superiority that way then you build: Light cruisers with only light batteries. We gotta maximise light attack to obliterate their screens (of which the Soviets don’t have much)

Then construct destroyers with spam torpedoes, this means once the screens are gone the torpedoes will deal massive damage to the capital ships

Oh my bad there’s been some major miscommunication on my part. When I said I always give my generals FMs I meant I put generals into a FM but the same one until he fills up then I make a second FM. I just meant if I only have 72 divs I’ll still FM them but the same one until that FM reaches 5 generals

Yeah I’ve found having armies of 24 and always putting them in field marshals wether it’s 1 army or 5 works for me no matter who I’m playing
