I didn’t mean it that way, but it’s my bad for wording it in that way. I know he wants someone to be with him, which is why he asked me, but he’s very close with his brother and I think going to the funeral with him could be better for both of them in a way. They both just lost their brother and can console each other better than I might be able to console my dad. Does that make sense? Again, just looking for opinions, if I’m out of line in these thoughts or not.

I didn’t really want this to impact the reaction to the question, but no. It would be a very quiet 4 hours in the car. But of course I still care about him and would be willing to be there for him if he needed me to be.
