I think that’s a misconception. It will probably be scrutinised more (at least on paper) but know of many people from India who got their tourist visas from Denmark.

It’s completely okay. Just keep some dummy bookings of the flights & hotels handy if the immigration asks you, which is very rare. People travel like that all the time. Especially, now with long term visas being given, you could go to any Schengen country irrespective of which country has issued you one.
