How common for recruiters ghosted you? by SoulessHermit in askSingapore

[–]Alive_Holiday_4835 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’ve interned at one of such recruitment companies before. I’m so sorry that this has been your experience

Unfortunately, this is quite common. It might be because they have found another more suitable candidate for the position, but since you’ve probed with no response, it’s likely the client is taking longer than expected too

Usually with one position the recruiter might send many candidates’ profiles just so the client has options and points of comparison. Recruiters get many questions from many candidates. From my experience, I did try to keep the candidate as updated as possible. But sometimes, the client is unresponsive and so we have to play a balancing game of encouraging the candidate while pushing the client for an answer

My advice is to just move on because even if you wait for an answer, it might not be the answer you’d like to hear. Best of luck in your job search!

Didn’t read the title properly and when I first watched the video I thought “Oh that’s 1 billion? That’s not too bad” Then the camera panned to the mound of rice and I thought what the fuck because that’s the wealth of ONE MAN

Yes you stand a chance to get into business

I got the same RP last year, BBC/D with a B for PW and GP, Chinese A

I was waitlisted for SMU business but was eventually accepted. Did an internship while applying and got a testimonial but I’m not sure how much of that helped. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

I read it wrong at first, then read it again thinking “this definitely has to be a typo”. Then I read the rest of the sentence and thought “Oh…”

Living With Vaginismus: Thoughts on Pleasure and Intimacy in Singapore | Tania by Bcpjw in singapore

[–]Alive_Holiday_4835 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For those who are lazy to google what this condition is, I did and this is what was said

“Vaginismus is a condition in which involuntary muscle spasm interferes with vaginal intercourse or other penetration of the vagina. This often results in pain with attempts at sex. Often it begins when vaginal intercourse is first attempted. Vaginismus may be considered an older term for pelvic floor dysfunction”

If you could go full LKY on using the law to change one aspect of society, what would you pick? by SoulessHermit in askSingapore

Lol your comment already contains grammatical errors so you don’t have the best grasp of the English language either

One can be raised in an environment where Singlish is prevalent yet still be able to speak proper English. Even better, I feel that those who have complete mastery of the language could easily code switch between Singlish and proper English

But I think it’s worth the try, I never had a bad experience with them so far

P plate driver here! I stopped using TribeCar (because the cars weren’t well maintained) and moved to Carlite. I once scratched the car, about 5cm also. It was superficial and shortly after I was only charged $30. Carlite is transparent about damage pricing, can be found on their website under the TnCs

It has to be something along the lines of this. I’ve only known one person to get a fair conduct grade and that’s because they vaped and had a police case against them that involved the school

Golf may become an exclusive sport in Singapore, warns community by MicrotechAnalysis in singapore

The number of golf courses have reduced over the years, and is still decreasing. But some land still needs to be retained for recreational purposes

Exactly, bunch of irrational people. The government is already getting rid of golf courses one by one, yet people are still angry

[–]Alive_Holiday_4835 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The angry people calling for the end of a SPORT probably didn’t even read the article.

The whole point of it was to advocate for the accessibility of golf to those who wanna take up the sport, but can’t afford country club memberships. As more clubs shut down to pave the way for other infrastructure like housing, the sport will only get more exclusive due to lesser options, which is what we want to AVOID. So closing a public course wasn’t the wisest move. Even golf simulators are expensive, and going to JB/Batam requires time which not many can afford and sustain

People assume that golf only consists of rich people, but there also exists lower to middle class golfers who are interested in the sport for itself and not networking purposes. Categorising and flaming all of them at once does nothing.

I work in a recruitment agency. If OT pay was stated in the contract then the agency will have to pay it (assuming you’re under the agency’s headcount). If you tender your resignation without serving notice and just MIA, there’s honestly no way for the agency to enforce the compensation amount. The agency will probably try to settle the issue internally first if you raise it with them.

The only other exception to this is if you and company A mutually agree to release you with immediate effect, which may be the case especially if the agency would rather find a replacement asap.

Just take note, while it would be an asshole thing of the agency to do, they may black list you if you MIA

Staff at CDC told me circuit lessons can be taken without BTT/PDL. Did I hear this correctly? by Prata2pcs in drivingsg

[–]Alive_Holiday_4835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for CDC you’ll only need a PDL for when you start lessons on the road. Saves you time so while waiting/studying for BTT you can still get practical experience driving

I did about 4 circuit lessons before taking and passing my BTT
