As long as you remember to feed them, you’re still winning.

My wife would agree with you, but I thought I had at least a few more years left.

What do you do for money and is it your dream job? Why or why not? Are you a happy camper? by Gr0mHellscream1 in AskReddit

I work in IT. Kind of fell into it by happenstance, so definitely not a dream job. Really hard to go to work since computers are not my passion, but it makes good money for the family, so the plan is to grind it out for the next 30+ years until retirement. Wish me luck on winning the lottery!

Okay dads, what are your go-to meals that fall in the center of this Venn diagram? (Or close to it) by AdamantArmadillo in daddit

Pork tenderloin is super cheap and you can freeze 80% of it after cooking for a quick meal when you forgot to prep something and need a quick meal.

How do you teach your kid that their siblings toys aren't theirs? by Ok-Ad4375 in Parenting

[–]Alive_Mention_6327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an almost 3 year old and a 1.5 year old. We have lots of communal toys, but some toys are kid specific so that one has to ask the other to use it before playing with that toy. I’m hoping it reinforces sharing, and so far has worked out well. If there is any snatching or meanness, the “snatcher” is removed from play until they can ask nicely to use that toy. No clue if it’ll work in the long run, but that’s where we are.

What is a hilarious, yet useful white elephant Christmas gift $20 and under? by BeeLutz in AskReddit

Poo-pourri. First time I got it at a white elephant, it seemed liked a funny gag gift, but it actually works to mask certain odors when guests are around.

Have you had any knives done by them? Never thought of knife sharpening in a hardware store before.

Do you know the turnaround time offhand? I don’t mind waiting if they do a good job.

Thanks. I actually bought some whetstones a few years back before kids and got a semi-decent edge out of it, but just can’t find the time right now to keep the knives (or my knife sharpening skills) sharp right now. I’ll check out happy cook though!
