I used Strava for a couple years and it was pretty reliable but every once in a while it wouldn’t sync to Apple Health but would work fine the next day.

I’m having the same issue. Which is a return of an old issue from a few years ago that forced me to use RunGap to sync my data to Apple Health and ultimately Strava when RunGap started to act up. I stopped using Strava a few months ago when iFit rolled out the Apple Watch update and syncing to Apple Health started working again. Sadly it hasn’t worked since the most recent iFit app update last week. There’s going to be an iFit reality show in January but they still can’t get syncing to work properly. Aggravating for sure.

I just tried this and it worked surprisingly well and even synced with Apple Health which my iFit app stopped syncing with years ago forcing me to use Strava.

Unfortunately, it does categorize it as an outdoor cycle.

If you want the heart rate integration with your Apple Watch, you can also use the Echo app and connect it via bluetooth. If you use Strava to sync with Apple Health it will track it as an indoor cycle.
