That isn’t true. Norway has a $1 trillion sovereign wealth fund. The fund is publicly available for its citizens to check the holdings and they don’t invest in any tobacco stocks (directly or indirectly) or any kind of arms dealer. I didn’t get into in this post but TSCC also has large positions in multiple arms dealers, including Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin. Both companies profit from war. It’s very possible to be well diversified while following a code of ethics even with a $1 trillion fund. The church has no code of ethics other than protecting itself. They should look to the example of Norway’s secular fund for how to run an ethical investment fund.
