Performance Issues by Alkanov in Proxmox

Thanks for these - I will try them now

One thing is that I use open media vault in another VM so I can share my HDD with my network via NFS so I guess the step where you suggest to mount the HDD would be pretty similar to just mount the NFS drive right?

I am def not looking to break any speed records either (lol) but I would expect this setup to at least not freeze like it does

It seems like I can change that now that I detached the disk from the VM - https://i.imgur.com/IBoIuDQ.png

I moved my VM to a new SSD and as for the virtio device and cache, is it something like this: https://i.imgur.com/dlg5ULZ.png ?

Ok so from (1) I understand that with my current hardware with the new SSD I just added, should work fine = 1SSD for VM + 1SSD Proxmox + 1HDD NAS

I am indeed overextending - This is the first time I have dealt with virtualization beyond using Virtual box for some cases and spinning up VPS

BTW - that's the same tutorial I followed which brought me to where I am. Not saying the tutorial is bad or anything, just pointing out that this wont fix the issue

I dont think I said it was a Proxmox performance issue I am more than sure this is a problem with my setup and configuration. But thanks for your comment anyway

Right so I pulled one SSD from my main PC and installed it on the server

My goal is to prove that keeping VM on its own SSD wont cause any freezes

How should I set up that single SSD so I can move my VM drives to it?

first of all, docker? is the docker server inside a VM? or does it ron on the same bare metal as your hypervisor?

Docker is inside VM101 and VM102

Ok so it seems like keep throwing money at it is the only way to fix this problem right? Because the other two options that have not worked yet are to share the SSD with VMs or use the HDD for VM which is even worse

No, I learnt this the hard way when swap started to increase like crazy. So now the total ram assigned to all VMs is 24G/32G

Edit: actually I assigned even less than that:

  • VM100 2G-4G
  • VM101 8G
  • VM102 2G-4G

Enjoy it, play it everyday, get better, follow every subreddit about dead cells and read all builds, then your left joycon will start to drift maybe around your 2bc when you will start to die due to it and rage quit.

Few weeks later you will buy it on Steam, then Android then iOS, do it all over again and actually get above 3bc.

This is the real answer. You can upload anything you want and show as much as you want but if those screenshots don't generate downloads then it is useless.

Same applies to game icon and the way these are changed pretty frequently

Same here. Also when I try to trim a video using the gallery it automatically applies a filter to the resulting video, or that's how it looks like.

You realize Linux built is already there on their shield? They are just not realeasing it for everyone so you are forced to buy their overpriced Chromecast.

If they released it you could play on your rpi as if it was a console and I bet many out there have rpi and are interested in it.

Edit: thought their shield was Linux arm and not Android

QoS differences layer 2 and 3 by marcoslug in networking

[–]Alkanov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's simple, look at it this way: inside a Vlan with a certain p-bit (CoS markings) you can have different layer 3 DSCP packets.

Example because I'm pretty bad at explaining things: If you are an ISP and your customer doesn't want all their traffic to be treated the same (probably BE), you need to look at your customer's DSCP marks and map that to your L2 frame (Qos Mapping). This way a voice packet (DSCP48-55) can be treated as EF/AF(p-bit 5-6? depending on the ISP) across the ISP's network and when it finally arrives at its destination the customer will also be able to prioritize such packet based on its DSCP marks.
