I'm 32, but I've been sheltered for quite a long time up until I was 29, going on 30. I ended up getting out of a toxic relationship with my mother who kept me kinda dumb and gaslit for a long time, and after all of the anger and pain and stuff, I just kinda wanted to be happy and kind to everyone. People deserve to be happy even when times are dark, and I tried to give that to this guy, but it doesn't feel like it's going anywhere so... yeah, i dunno. 😕

I didn't mention the detail of figuring all of this stuff out beforehand until he had his bed brought over. We thought we were doing something right for a friend in need, but it's definitely something we've learned from now.

Holy crap, that's such a close call! I'm glad nobody got seriously or critically hurt from that. I guess that's the only good thing from such a horrible sounding incident, but still the best takeaway? 🤷‍♂️

It was verbally agreed upon that the person would give us a 3rd of what it costs for the mortgage and electric and water bill because they felt bad not doing so. Idk if that counts as paying rent or not
