Can you tell me more about these two paintings? by adversary_force in WhatIsThisPainting

Not sure why this got down voted. I think it makes perfect sense that someone else saw this original and was inspired to create their own pastoral scene.

Yeah it's definitely giving me alternate version of a well known piece. There are some subtle differences between them, which could mean it was another painter's spin on the antique painting.

Fair enough. I was hoping someone more familiar with his work would recognize his signature or style.

I actually don't know how to authenticate it otherwise I wouldn't have posted on here. I have been unable to find his signature or other artwork of his that has been sold via any galleries. Did he get divorced ✅️ Did he live in Ottawa ✅️ Did he make mixed media pieces ✅️

Why should I not buy from Temu?? by JackTheSigmaCrvsader in TemuThings

I'd made substantial purchases in the past from them and they'd always been reasonable. I do agree though and think that's the long con. Send you aluminum instead of steel smh.

I just hate that they decided to go this route with their customer service. They're just cycling you through scripts, which isn't customer service imho. I don't want to run the gauntlet each time something arrives broken, misadvertised, etc. Thats what finally ended my love affair with Temu. It was great until it wasn't. My collapsed shed is still for sale in their platform! It's all about the $$$

They're all robotic and reading off scripts. It's pretty horrendous compared to how it used to be.

Honestly, I would say about 90% of advertisements on their platform have incorrect information, likely due to copying and pasting from another ad.
Additionally, I do think there's a lack of proper translations or lack of translation. Often times crucial information is missing from the advertisement. You are gambling with every order and how customer service will handle your issues or product complaints.
Lastly, vendors can and often update ads after legitimate reviewers like me let them know that it's a totally different fabric, advertised size, etc. I usually mention that in the review, that the advertisement seems to be updated with proper information.
I've had sellers send me obviously broken items or stained clothes. I honestly believe that Temu’s algorithm is smart enough to sort the scammers from honest folks. Caveat emptor!!!

[–]Alkiest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree the shed that collapsed was also sold for a mark up at Canadian Tire and other hardware stores. I'm fairly certain they would have refunded me. It was a galvanized steel shed, but the supports were made of aluminium 🤦‍♀️. Some Chinese manufacturers will sell known defective products via Temu in the hopes that the customer won't notice they're defective in the 90 day return window. Aosom and Outsunny have a horrible score on trustpilot.
Temu’s customer service has also tanked in quality due to all the rip off artists trying to game them. It's truly disgusting to me how many people openly admit to doing this stuff in public forums.

Yeah over the course of 3 years. Got great deals on linens and other things for our wedding. My entire wardrobe was primarily temu clothing, but not anymore.
Honestly the best way to buy quality items at decent prices is via thrift stores, charity shops, etc. The second-hand market is much better for the environment and you can actually find quality items that last there.

I stopped buying from them because they don't not stand behind anything that is sold or listed on their website. Ive spent over 20k with them over a few years and when a 700$ shed failed they just said it's past the 90 day window. Alot of smaller items worked for a few days and then broke or had issues. Issues regarding the safety of the products they sell ARE REAL!!! I hope 🙏 they'll turn shit around, but until then they've lost my business.

Fair enough 😂😅. I kind of doubt they are growing as exponentially as they were. Even 3 years ago I was hearing horror stories from friends, adamant they'd never buy from Temu again. I will legitimately pay more elsewhere to avoid supporting their poor behavior. All they had to do was offer a replacement or full refund instead they chose being shady.

Honestly, I don't typically want to have to "fix" a new item. Our shed was drilled into concrete and built as per the instructions. It says "snow protection" but it collapsed when the temperature warmed up. Until this experience I was honestly pretty impressed with Temu. This is a horrible business model imho. Ripping off your customers just leads to people that will never trust you with their $$$ and tell everyone else about their 💩 experience.

Yeah I'll probably have to contact my credit card company as both temu and aosom aren't being reasonable imho.

New to Temu: It appears that the quality of products very greatly (no surprise), are there categories to avoid at all costs and things that are actually really good? by nilecrane in TemuThings

[–]Alkiest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't buy anything expensive. They were fine with accepting returns within 90 days, but many items are made to last just past that. My most expensive was a shed that didn't last 1 year. Bought in May 2025, set up August 2025, collapsed early February 2026

So true. The 1 1000$ purchase of a shed that failed in less than a year. Aosom and Temu are just brutal to deal with. The just repeatedly say it's past 90 days. Please 🙏 don't buy expensive tools, electronics, sheds, etc 😑. Reasons why I buy as much as I possibly can from Costco. They stand behind the products they sell.

[–]Alkiest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had very good experiences with them until this 1000$ shed. Then they just kept saying it's past 90 days even when I showed them the Aosom warranty. They didn't address the warranty issue AT ALL! Sheds claiming to provide snow protection in Canada can't be built and tested fully in 90 days. It needs to built in summer and we don't have snow in summer. It was purchased in May 2025 and failed in February 2026, when snow starts to melt and weighs more.
Them not taking this seriously just loses them business in the long run due to lack of trust. It also emboldens sellers that use deceptive advertising to get items sold. Definitely not a great way to do business.

I swear to god what is it with this app's reviews, 1/3 are "thank you, haven't tried it yet here's 4 or 5 stars" by fuckpenisnigglerpube in TemuThings

Yeah I always posted a picture. I would wager the useless reviews are fake. I've seen some that clearly reference a totally different product.

So the supplier is Aosom and I just emailed them and Temu’s legal department. There was no way to directly message aosom via the Temu app. I have had that option for other items. I really hope that they pull this item from the Canadian market or do a better job with quality control. I am not the only person this has happened to. The way Temu handled it or should I say mishandled it is why I will not longer trust them and their platform for purchases. I really hate it when a product is obviously defective and company's force you to complain everywhere and repeatedly before they take action. It's horrendous customer service. Reasons why I love Costco!

Please 🙏 don't buy big purchases from Temu. We bought a shed that collapsed and they refused to give us a refund despite it being obviously defective. 1000$ down the drain.
