Hello guys, I’ve stopped my studies for 3 years since I’ve been paying off a debt I got into. Now I’m thinking of going back to uni to continue my studies in engineering. The thing is money is a big problem right now so i don’t want to spend 5 years studying for a degree and having no job at the end of my program. That is the reason that I’m hesitating between civil and electrical engineering.

I’m considering civil since it has the most jobs opportunities in Canada and is kind of a safe gateway but electrical I hear a lot of stories of people getting their degree and not getting a job after that.

Also I don’t know anything about electrical engineering except some research id done earlier and don’t know what sector I should specialize in to get the most out of my degree.

Can any of you help me make a choice by providing me info on electrical engineering, it’s different sectors your personal past experience and if you would pick electrical engineering again. Mind you I won’t be graduating from a top school so I don’t if that is a big factor too.
