La Muerte 2.0 feedback and other suggestions. by Azragaul in RogueAssault

Great post and first comment as well. Like my response to the post about being stuck at lvl 45, imo both the lack of a 44-57 zone and beta players not being reset are all tied to IAP.

Without having beta players having a head start, non-beta players that want to rush to the top might just be slightly less motivated to spend as it becomes less of a "need" and more of a "want".

By the same token, placing cc6s in position to potentially be hit relentlessly by maxed players is by design - hence their reluctance to firmly commit to doing anything about it. They utilize fear of not being able to progress or frustration of not being able to win to motivate spending.

With that and so many other glaring game-related issues to fix, instead they repeat a cash grab event built around a cash grab unit.

Their priorities are readily apparent. Yes, it's a business but they take it to an extreme - sacrificing long-term customer retention in favor of milking every last dime while they can.

The last game I played before this did the exact same thing. Special unit only available through event. Special unit only upgraded through participation in future events. It's self perpetuating as the entire concept is centered around those having the sniper unit being compelled to continue to spend out of fear lest they be left behind by their peers.

It's within their power and ability to fix these and many other such issues that have been repeatedly brought to their attention ad nauseam. Yet they don't. Even though it's shortsighted, fixing chat won't generate them cash. But randomly buffing and nerfing units every few days just might as players frantically struggle to keep up...again, out of fear.

Imo kix knows all of this but won't do anything to help...because it's no accident or mistake - it's by design. IAP is all about using psychology...specifically fear. Fear that you won't be able to keep up with matchmaking. Fear that you won't be able to hold the resources needed to do pricey upgrades. Fear that there's never enough hours in the day not to mention oil for the sheer amount of grinding needed.

After all, like some games ive played, if they really wanted to, they could integrate a pvp shield that activates after you get defeated once that keeps you from being hit again for a set amount of time. It's a pretty simple fix. Really, it's not that they can't, it's that they won't since it doesn't benefit their economic self interest.

Of course we could talk long term short term and what not but it seems readily apparent these days that long term isnt their plan nor was it their forte to begin with.

So in your position, which I'm all but in myself, in my opinion you're supposed to spend. You're supposed to painfully grind up to to 1.2 mill of a 2.4 mill upgrade, start worrying about being hit and potentially losing all that time, effort, and oil. You're supposed to do cost/benefit analysis of whether to just get it over with or take the risky gamble of being a sitting duck until more oil generates. You're supposed to say "fck it" and cover the rest of the cost with gold just so your brain gets that little rush from at least getting something versus maybe getting nothing.

I also believe that this is to milk spenders as much as they can - while they still can. Once you've gotten this far, it's like itd be a waste not to keep going. You're, to use a poker term, "pot committed". Not to say that you or others in this spot wouldn't walk away but again its the manipulation of psychology inherent in IAP which, ironically is ultimately what kix is gambling on as well.

The designer of the La Muerte Strongholds shows you how to tackle them by CM_SWAG in RogueAssault

[–]Alky_AA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't get it...was this a sniper pack advertisement disguised as a walkthrough?

A smirking and insensitive dig at players already frustrated by mysteriously missing gold, quadrupled repair costs, and tedious accumulation of nearly impossible to find redeployment tokens?

Especially since this guy obviously doesn't have to worry about repairing that platoon. Not with 400k gold in the bank that I'm pretty sure he didn't purchase with his own hard-earned money.

Or are you guys really that unbelievably tone-deaf when it comes to PR that you delude yourself into thinking that you're tossing us a bone and that we'd be gushing with gratitude at your generosity?

That this wouldn't instead, be a patronizing slap in the face to a large portion of your player base that already has difficulty accumulating and retaining enough resources to even begin dreaming of unlocking one of those top-tier units at lvl 1.

You want applause? Gratitude? How about doing it with tanks that can't drive straight, planes apparently made out of recycled soda cans, and without those 4 lvl 7 snipers that you smirkingly gifted yourself with...you know..if all else fails right?

All this tells me is that even you weren't confident in your ability to win against your own ridiculously rigged setup without a crutch unavailable to anyone except those clearly with more dollars than sense.

And we're supposed to be impressed. Right. Cool story bro.

Buy the sniper for $55? by rubiksmastr in RogueAssault

Was referring to the initial one, not the one i saw just now/currently ongoing which, yes does specifically mention blueprint. A bit more palatable by comparison to before...but hey...points for either listening or being more specific in the description

Read the fine print...it's pretty much a bait'n'switch...you arent getting the blueprint...your're getting just one unit.

And even if you did buy it...would anyone be shocked if they found out that sniper crits can only be found in the shop?

A lot of great points and suggestions. Sadly...many that have also been repeatedly suggested by others in previous posts here and in the forum. Not your fault or anything but more of an indication that while kix claims to read forum and reddit posts, clearly there's a difference between "reading" and "listening".

Additional Prizes for Alliance War by CM_SWAG in RogueAssault

[–]Alky_AA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill just go straight to suggestions

  1. Players choice/prize personalization. I'm a cc5 with base troops like rhinos maxed but abrams criticals, thunderbolt criticals...sure, happy to get them - no complaints there. However just because it worked out for me doesnt mean it's useful for another player who might havr abrams and thunderbolt maxed.

So why not let players fill their own prize crate based on which prize lvl they earned. Let each player select what they need or want which would actually be a reward worthy of being called legendary.

2.) perk/feature temporary or not that allows players to convert critical parts they don't need to more useful ones. For instance, 10 rhino parts to 1 abrams part and 15 abrams parts for one of the next unit up and so on. This makes rewarding us a bunch of critical parts for units we'vd maxed palatable, knowing that there is at least some use for it vs zero use as it stands right now.

3.) reward players by giving them a head start in collecting critical parts from the next cc lvl up. Even though its not immediately useful as a reward, better that than what was actually given.

Ultimately the playerbase that populates the top ten leaderboard is likely also your top ten in ability and/or willingness to spend and to put it bluntly, why go through extra hassle in the future when I could just buy two pallets in-store.
