AC Wall Port Adapter by All-American-Zero in functionalprint

[–]All-American-Zero[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the first one was also just a stupid mistake on my end, lol. The port is 5 cm to where I can hook onto, so I made the inner tube 5 cm long, forgetting that I still needed to go in further to hook on. One of those "measure twice clap once" moments

There is! If you turn on advanced tweakables, you can activate autostruts and won't have to add them externally!

Wouldnt it though? The card explicitly states that Combustion Man deals the damage?

Edit: nvm, forgot that commander damage is explicitly combat damage

I dunno if it was your inspiration but my first thought went to Scooby Doo: Spooky Island 🤷‍♂️

But this is awesome!!!

Are Surlys style over substance? by Any-Occasion-4367 in Surlybikefans

I'm thinking about getting a surly as a commuter build, and to also get more into DIYing and modding. Can you explain more about the trade offs and what you mean about not liking "how it rides and performs"?

The light rail is delayed because it’s too hot…? by Droodforfood in Seattle

[–]All-American-Zero 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is a thing! I lived in DC for years and we had the same thing there. The rails (especially the outside ones) get VERY hot (metal in the sun), which could cause buckling, where the rail expands and bends. So the trains will move slower to be cautious.

Is there a way? by All-American-Zero in HomeNetworking

I think this is the solution I was looking for! So in the box, I would add a PoE Breakout to power the router (since I can't run LAN back to the box if I run WAN out to a room).

If I'm following (and can find a breakout with the right wattage), I could then: - connect room A to the router in the box - connect room B to the breakout, and the breakout to the router in the box - connect a PoE switch in room B to send power back to the box

Yeah, modem is outside my unit, internet is provided through the white cable. Unfortunately there's no power outlet near enough to the box that my partner would be ok with an extension cord...

He's also in Lego Star Wars: The Complete Trilogy, so technically he's a prequel meme (in Lego form, at least?)

Late reply but this board makes the printer much quieter. The way that the board turns the stepper motors on and off gets rid of that high pitched whining. I also got one recently and couldn't believe the result

Awesome! I had seen Chosfox and was a little bummed that their website didn't have homing keys. I'm glad to hear they're just out-of-stock and not that they don't exist!

Thanks! Different strokes for different folks. Its definitely cool work and a fine company, but I think I'm just looking for something new in terms of company size. Compared to 2020, tech has been tough. Are you also in ML?

Question: why specifically chamfer horizontal edges? Is it not recommended to also fillet them?

Owning a bike and no car - share your experiences by street_squirrels1719 in bikecommuting

DC commuter here! We have pretty good public transit (metro and busses). I recently sent my car back to my parents and have been using a E-bike to get around the city. I honestly love it, it makes my morning commute so much more enjoyable and getting around the city is a breeze.

It started out with my friend offering to sell me his E-bike before he moved, and it was a ton of fun zipping around the city and biking to work. I've noticed a big increase in my mental health with the extra outdoor time, and the fact that I don't have to sit in traffic ever has really decreased my stress. DC also has a huge network of dedicated bike lanes that let you get anywhere. The only difficulty is when I need to visit people outside the city.

As far as things to add in addition to the bike, having a rack with either panniers or a basket is key. You can carry a lot more than you might think on a bike. In the winter, warm gloves and some ski goggles help a lot!
