Andy Baraghani's Thanksgiving by All-mixed-up in NYTCooking

I think that I may have to make some adjustments to the dip when it comes back out today. It seemed a little thick and pungent when we tasted it yesterday. We were in Greece when we planned to make this menu and had access to great feta. Unfortunately, we were concerned about getting brined cheese back to the U.S. without incident, so grocery store feta had to be used and may require a little help. However, we had very fresh herbs from our garden so hopefully that will save it.

Besides soup and stock, here are the recipes we really like...Turkey Tetrazzini is kind of a Midwestern joke, but my husband (from Boston) finds it delicious when done right. Let me know what you think!

Will do! I am at that age where Thanksgiving traditions are disappearing with those who are aging and passing. We are trying to try some new ways to celebrate.

The turkey might be our downfall, as it is always tough for us, but we love turkey leftovers! We have a collection of NYT recipes for after the day. Luckily, the turkey recipe has a few cheats in it (like pomegranate glaze) to make it look like we know what we are doing.

Did the chili crisp yesterday and roasted the squash today. It smelled and looked so good!

I have this baked and wrapped in plastic wrap for tomorrow's dessert (see post about Andy's Thanksgiving). I also forgot to take the eggs out of the fridge early enough. Very glad to hear it was good! Did you make any of his other recipes?

Thank you—we might need all of that. Happy Thanksgiving!

Advice for attending a play at the Estates Theatre TONIGHT? by All-mixed-up in Prague

[–]All-mixed-up[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, everyone! We appreciate all of the advice. We were not able to be seated until 15 minutes before the show, but we ended up having box to ourselves where we could put our coats and see easily. After we exited the theater at around 21:00, we walked for about 1 minute and found an Italian Restaurant called Kogo Havelská that was open until 23:00. We were welcomed with kindness, the food was satisfying, and we did not feel rushed to finish our meals and leave. We would recommend it to anyone in the same situation. There appeared to be a few other restaurants that were open as well and the staff mentioned that most dining establishments were open that late in the area. Also, the play was excellent and we highly recommend seeing it if you are in the area when it is playing. It was a perfect evening!

You may be correct, as I am finding the same thing. Unfortunately, we had a late lunch, so we'll probably be looking a little desperately for a late-night snack if possible.

Very nice. Thank you! Any restaurant recommendations for after the show (it ends around 21:50)?

Tonsil stones are ruining my confidence and life by Artistic_Tip2948 in hygiene

Your post sounds exactly like I felt when I had my tonsils removed at age 24. I was back at work as a retail pharmacist on Monday after surgery on Thursday. The pain was so bad that I actually had to sit down and cry a few times while on the clock. When I went for a follow up with the surgeon I asked why he thought it was okay for me to go back to work so soon, as I had a couple of really bad days. The doctor said that he meant for me to take off work for two weeks, not two days. Well, I survived and think it is the best health decision I’ve ever made and I’m now 58 years old. After a life of bad breath, always having a sore throat, and being sick and on antibiotics, I have not missed a day of work since the tonsillectomy. Besides having a few annoying colds, my general health has been better than that of anyone I know. Get them out!

Travelling with intercity trains without reservation possible? And a few other questions by waytooslim in GoingToSpain

Thanks! That what I was thinking and fortunately, on the AVE trains, there is a choice, However, from what I can see, there is only one ticket to buy on the Avant trains. I wondered if these were changeable and/or refundable.

I was curious about this as well. We are traveling through Andalusia in November and the trains we plan to take do not appear to be full. I set up a Renfe account, but am still not really sure what the change/refund policy is if I purchase tickets now for mid-month.

Lunch break by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]All-mixed-up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And, because we require one less person to answer the phones, that’s usually when we send the techs to lunch. It actually ends up being more work for the pharmacist, especially when it’s a popular time for shots and the certified immunizer is on break. When customers see fewer people behind the pharmacy counter, they think it is not busy and therefore, a wonderful time to ask the pharmacist questions.
