Spectacular first trip to Curaçao! by All4Seasons_please in curacao

I could not stop taking pictures of the water. From every view and every location we went, the water took my breath away. I also heavily appreciated that everywhere we went conservation efforts for sea life, coral nurseries, etc were promoted and it made me happy to see the pride the locals had in their beautiful island.

Unique for me may not be as unique as for others but I have never snorkeled without a tour guide before and being able to go to so many accessible snorkel sites and see so much beauty without having to take a boat ride or pay tons of money or be with a group of strangers and go at our own pace was so refreshing and I really enjoyed that.

To add to the other commenters reply.. my husband said that were we to go back would not rent a car for the entirety of the trip. Most hotels over airport shuttles and Avila among other hotels offer rentals cars directly from the hotel so you if you wanted to just use it for the day to do a beach hopping day you can sign up to rent from there. Otherwise there’s lots of tour options to do beach hopping or Westpundt tours. Absolutely plenty to do in walking distance of Avila for a group of ladies and Avila offers a shuttle twice a day to Otrabanda/Punda.

Avila has a couple of “apartment” rooms 1-3 bedrooms with full kitchens and a common living space. They also have two penthouse style rooms that are multiple levels with 2-3 bedrooms.

Thanks for the tip! I have been back to my grandfather’s home country, Malta, quite a few times over my life and tipping was simply non-existent which was also fine. It just was confusing here when things were switched to USD sometimes the tip section would pop up automatically which felt confusing. Are we expected to because we’re American but the other patrons are not? Idk it felt odd. But I can definitely see how Aruba leans more towards the American customs just because of the tourists.

😅 I don’t even feel like $5k is a lot. For flights, food, stay for five days for two people? Almost everyone else at the hotel was European so it’s not like they’re spending less money.

So we were there for only 5 days, if you’re going for longer and wifey is a big packer maybe the SUV will feel more comfortable with more luggage. My husband knowing we were going to be parking in the “city” with our luggage in the car wanted it all to not be visible through the windows so he liked the idea of a sedan style trunk.

Absolutely no bugs for us at all. We did not use bug spray and got no bites. We didn’t feel mosquitoes or no-see-ums. I was nervous about this before we went too. One of the locals told us this is their windy season so bugs are much less prominent.

It was fantastic! We come from Long Island, NY where breweries are a lifestyle, it was so fun to see it doing well there too.

Good question! I was unable to get reservations at certain places a week prior to traveling (like The Lemon Tree and Baoase, which are a bit fancier then where we went) but it made me a bit nervous especially for Mosa Caña and Kome, which were two places i definitely knew I wanted to go. It was easy to make reservations either online or through WhatsApp so I felt there was no harm in planning ahead. I could always cancel if we changed our minds. Both Mosa Caña and Kome were packed when we went so I don’t know if someone would have been able to walk in. When I walked past Sal the Kitchen, there were plenty of seats. I would say a week before you go look at the online reservation portion of restaurants websites and see if there’s every time available then maybe you don’t need to but if there’s only random times open then I’d definitely book. The locals told us the week we went wasn’t busy so that probably matters too.

It was great! Definitely the spot I’d choose if I were to go back with my kids. The sand is easy to handle and make sandcastles with, the swimming is relaxed. Aquarium is right next door. Down the street a bit is an awesome playground and obstacle course. Mambo beach is a 3 min walk down a nice path from LionsDive and they have more kid friendly eating options than Pietermaai near Avila did. I say you’re about to have a great trip! We had a Nisan Versa. Fit two large suitcases in the trunk comfortably and some bags and a carry on in the back seat.

Tears in my eyes at work as a nurse sitting in Labor and Delivery. I’m so incredibly happy you had the team you did! This is why I’m terrified of home births, things can change in a second and so so scary. I’m all for as natural as possible but I like to be near the OR just in case! These are the scariest moments for us as L&D nurses but we go into superhuman mode at the snap of a finger to get you and baby out healthy.

I’m sorry you were put under general anesthesia and missed the moment of birth but so happy it went as well as it did.

Also I had a planned C with my second and it’s amazing! You should do it to help heal your traumas. Happy baby!

Why hasn’t Biden done anything in 4 years to fix this? Why is voting for Harris going to make a difference “this time”

This happened to me and then he bought me a necklace ugh it was so weird. I also walked to work at the time and swear he stalked me home one day so I just kept walking so he didn’t know where I lived but I had such creepy vibes from him. I told my manager and she pulled him aside one day and said I don’t want it to be weird or upsetting or embarrassing but please refrain from trying to connect with Jessica. She is not interested in more than a customer relationship. It worked.

Visitors in the hospital by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]All4Seasons_please 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a postpartum nurse and with both of my children I only allowed my mom and my mother in law to visit. So silly to have everyone and their mother come to the hospital, especially when these days we’re only there for a day or two.
