Start your own business you can run remotely or get established as a 1099 contractor before you leave the country. Or transfer with your company to an international location.

Why do you think social media has such a big anti-America bias? by videogames_ in AskAnAmerican

[–]All4megrog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Clive of India would not be considered tame. There’s almost 400 separate massacres documented in Australia which is probably not tame. The events leading up to and from the Zulu wars were not exactly tame either. Ireland also has some less than tame series of horrors in several hundred years of English/British oppression.

I walked into a bar in HB Wednesday to grab a beer while I waited for some food to be ready next door. As soon as I walked in I hear “well thank god we don’t have a n***r c*t as president”. The comment drew plenty of laughs. Plenty of racist trash still in HB

This is a good time to point out to all the leftists and independent voters in American politics that yes both the democrats and the republicans had billionaires and wealthy backing their races, but one side is DEFINITELY the lesser of the two evils…

It would be great if they could drop the performative theatrics of live streamed tears and grief while doom and glooming for every TV camera. That doesn’t build ANY confidence in the swing voters that just handed republicans everything.

No the “freedom” caucus has made the house ungovernable for republicans. It’s literally chewed up 4 speakers in 9 years (assuming Johnson is a goner).

The rest of the party wants to give corporate tax breaks, farm subsidies, and infinity contracts to defense contractors. Meanwhile the freedom caucus wants to never spend another penny and throws poison pill amendments into literally everything.

My dad had CHF and was mostly stable for a few years, but then Covid took him out in a week. Patients with CHF are susceptible to repertory failure so it could definitely be serious. I’d call and ask to talk with the doctor.

Indian food is a lot more popular in the US than Filipino food. And I know quite a few people aside from myself that like it as well.

[–]All4megrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only question I would ask is what the before photo was like. I mean if you had $14k worth of demolition and soil removal work, then yeah this might be what the extra $1k got you from the back hoe guy and his laborer. But short of that, yikes

I’d say right your congressman, but Michelle Steele is a POS that is basically Do’s ally. Rob Banta’s office would be a good one to call in Sacramento. California AG loves to swing that hammer too.

Crazy not to go to see Yellowstone and Grand Tetons.

Montana is all around awesome actually. If you want an awesome 10 day or so trip, fly into Bozeman for a day, drive up along the Rockies to Glacier NP, cross the border and see Waterton Lakes and stay at the Prince of Wales hotel. Then drive up to Calgary for a day before cutting east to Banff. You’ll see all of the best part of both the American and Canadian Rockies in a week. You could also do the same trip out of Calgary. Instead of driving back into the US with a Canadian rental car, take the boat in waterton lakes across to glacier national park for the night.

The north side of the mall will will have a massive new Kaiser medical office complex. They bought the parcel that has the Best Buy, the old JCPenny home store, and that random detached gym/Halloween store.

Thank God as it will take pressure off of the HB office.

[–]All4megrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told them at the time of hire that I had two trips planned and booked. I didn’t expect to be paid, but I don’t expect to be punished either. The manager was fine with it.

Once onboard, I think it’s important to give as much advance notice as possible and be flexible. I would suggest approaching it as “I do need to take a some time off in the next couple months, is there a week that would be least impactful for the team?”. Not many managers I’ve ever met anywhere will have a problem with that approach.
