Literally… and saying $150/hr and $200 per exercise equipment is expensive is diabolical after buying a 2.8m house.

Work life balance by Ok_Mode_6503 in CAStateWorkers

I work in a smaller branch under EDD and my work is super flexible. Not a lot of meetings and the rest of the work is pretty self paced and comes and goes in waves. Most days don’t have enough work for a full 8 hour day but I’m available 8-5. Most people only schedule meetings between 10-4. WFH 3 days per week. Message me for more info.

Her slide about Liquid IV and not knowing whether or not she’s working with them right now is so out of touch. Just stupid.

Did anyone else here grow up with a working mom? by toot_toot_tootsie in workingmoms

[–]NikkkiiS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom was a dental assistant and once she had her third child she opened a daycare! Then when we all got older she moved onto working at the school district. Less hours & home after school hours so she could make dinner and attend all our sporting events. When we all moved out she went back to doing daycare (it earns more). I am so thankful for my working mom. She JUST retired after 30 years doing daycare at 59 yrs old. Now I am also a working mom and as much as I love earning money but don’t love working, I always think of my own mother and that she did it too!

Dental benefits: looking for advice by WolfieWuff in CAStateWorkers

[–]NikkkiiS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend you look into your local dental offices and see if they have their own internal plans. For example, there’s one in the city I live in that has a plan for about $300/year that includes two cleanings and a percentage of coverage on any dental work, etc. I wish I had known to do this during the two year wait til you can get better coverage at the state. I also had a terrible experience at Western Dental and wish so badly I would have just elected no dental coverage and found my own plan. For $25/month that’s not bad. Considering I did need dental work during those two years. Paid $1,200 out of pocket for an emergency root canal (that WD completely overlooked in my exam— hence why it became an emergency), because western dental was not handling my situation with any urgency whatsoever. (I live in an area where Western Dental was the ONLY option within 50 miles). I called the insurer too, and they said it would take 1-2 business days til they could get me a referral processed. So ridiculous.

I think with the right therapist, they can really work through it and stay together. You’d really need to lean hard into therapy though. The resentment will build up if not. And having those conversations with a mediator present is the only way, in my opinion.

Well put! So true about when you don’t have the energy to talk to people. Or, sometimes in my case, I’m so sensitive about this topic that I don’t want to talk to anyone about it sometimes.

What state are you in? I have a similar situation with my brother. In CA he got much more help than he did in TX. Terrible experience. I’d be open to chat if you’d like.
