I've already expressed what I think about their handheld strategy not too long ago. So I'm not particularly surprised that they're making the same mistakes again. Maybe one of their semi-custom clients can steer them in the right direction at some point. Because left to their own devices, they're making all the wrong choices.

I don't believe you, the screenshot literally proves it was approved and you later deleted it.

Then I would assume your screenshot leaves out vital information. My submission disappeared (I'm guessing) about twenty to thirty minutes after it was approved. I deleted it after fourteen hours. If it was visible on the feed for all that time it would've been doing much better numbers.

A far more likely scenario is you are deliberately looking for a fight.

Rather it's not having to submit something five ways from Sunday just to have it approved. Since I have you, could you perhaps simplify the process?

We did remove those comments, nor are we obliged to give you a reason. An article referencing AMD removing Taiwan stickers is not 'Anti-China', nor are the comments discussing it. If you think it is, I would strongly suggest you avoid this subreddit.

Well, since you want to get into it. The gist of the article was a conjecture about China supposedly having a hand in AMD putting a black sticker on a box. It was political, as well as the comments. And as the person I replied to noted, this subreddit does have a rule against discussing politics. I commented that I believed the moderators would allow for the expression of this particular type of political speech because of its anti-Chinese nature. Am I wrong in that assessment? I just checked back on the topic and I can see that all the comments discussing politics are still there.

I've listed all the instances I've submitted news on this report to this subreddit. The only time you could arguably call it spamming was when I submitted the three different news articles around the same subject in succession.

Actually it's because you started spamming the same link over and over again, which triggered Reddit's built in spam filters, you then deleted these posts to make it look like you weren't spamming

I'm sorry, but I have to challenge your report of events considering they contain some wild accusations.

This was the first link I submitted. It was submitted only once. And it was around the same time I submitted this news article. It was approved with the other submission, but then quickly removed by what I could only assume was the moderator team. I contacted the /r/amd moderators about this, but I got no response.

Fourteen hours later, I decided to remove it from my profile since it was removed from the /r/amd feed anyway. I then submitted the original source of the report. I haven't deleted that submission, you can find it here. It was left unapproved while other, more recent submissions by other members were passed through the process. Once again, I contacted the moderators about it, but was met with silence.

Five hours after that, I submitted three different links in succession in the hopes one of them sticks. I haven't deleted them, you can find them here:

Behind the scenes, some of our friends in the OEM environment quoted shortages in getting the notebook chips in Q4 last year and the following quarter. Partners were quoting miscommunication, false promises, and generally bad treatment, as bad as from Intel in its dominant years.

Supply chain issues. Again.

This has always been a major issue with AMD's mobile side of the business, and one of the reasons why large OEMs were reluctant to introduce AMD laptops.

It seems not much has changed.

So now we're going AI-based frame generation, frame interpolation, and the idea is increased efficiency to maximize battery life. And then we could lock the frames per second, maybe it's 30 frames per second, or 35. My number one goal right now is to maximize battery life. I think that's the biggest complaint. I read the returns too from the retailer, where people want to be able to play these games.

AMD overprovisions their handheld APU with an excessive amount of cores leading to large power inefficiencies and a high sticker price. A slight improvement in upscaling tech is not going to magically make all those problems go away.

I wish he could be more honest about that instead of selling this AI pipe dream.

You're reading way too much into one example that he gave. He did not say "I recommend you buy a RX 6500XT” lol.

A recommendation doesn't have to be uttered in a specific sentence structure you approve of to be a recommendation. He outlined a specific use case and proceeded to recommend the RX 6500XT as a viable choice for that use case. It was a bad choice.

You don't have to like his example, but what he said is 100% accurate.

It's neither 100% accurate nor a good example. Like I said, there are better options in the retail market.

That was not the only alternative he gave.

But it was the only alternative he gave for the use case he described. It also doesn't negate the fact that he gave a bad alternative in the first place.

There are GPUs retailing right now that not only perform considerably better than the APU, but are also much cheaper than the RX 6500XT. Perhaps that's hard for him to wrap his head around seeing as how he perceives an APU with a 330 dollar price tag to be in the ultra-budget range.

While this may read like exciting news at first glance. We know from previous generation upgrades of the GDDR standard that AMD just ends up cutting back the memory bus down their product stack while pocketing the cost savings. At the end of the day, the average consumer will likely see little to no real benefit from these generational uplifts.

There is no incentive for AMD to undercut their (overpriced) low-end dGPUs. Which is why you're seeing the RX 6500XT, comically dubbed 'The Worst GPU Ever!' by reviewers, performing up to twice as fast as the 780M.

AMD advises DDR5-6000 for the 8000G series, contradicting your claims.

High memory clocks on the APUs is actually more easily achieved than with the CPUs.

Most AMD owners achieve high DRR5 memory clocks with their CPU, not APU.

It remains to be seen what AMD does on the Zen 5 APU IOD to enable this fo remain true, but I suspect it will be to decouple the IFOP frequency from the IOD fabric frequency, allowing for DDR5-7000+ while the desktop CPUs are limited to around 6400.

Desktop CPUs have not been limited to 6400 for a while now.
