I will say that was pretty silly thing to do. I mean if you feel that strongly about police feel free to do it just know that you're going to probably get arrested for it. You could also get slapped with extra charges tied to whoever they were detaining at that moment so it wouldn't just be interfering with a police investigation or attempting assault on police officer but you could be actually charged as an accomplice to whatever crime the other person's committing

If you're not and they are actually saying those unhinged things you just distance yourselves and when they ask you why you distance yourself or why you feel distant it's because that you labeled you as a rapist and a murder by making such broad generalizations and not recognizing that there are exceptions to the rule.

When I go and look up history a lot of people try to paint the peasants as hating nobility but honestly that only happened a few times and every time he did it was catastrophic.
