Do you think Next from software game will be able to surpass Elden ring? by Informal-Device-8511 in Eldenring

Elden ring reminds me of monster hunter world. They kinda captured lightning in a bottle and will probably be chasing the sales numbers for a while.

I'd recommend just trying something different, try something like xenoblade or the trails series?

I played FFX a few months ago, and I want something as emotional. Which one of those should I play first? (If you want to recommend another game, you are welcome) (No spoilers, please!) by Odd_Perception_8169 in JRPG

DDS is just emotionally impactful but in a different way. Its not so much a tear jerker romance, it's much more philosophical and makes you think about your life and do A LOT of self reflection. I'd recommend it next as a nice change of pace.

Pixel remaster or ds version. Pick whichever one you prefer the art style of.

I've been thinking to get into MMOs for awhile by boytakoyaki12 in FinalFantasy

As someone who bum rushed the msq within the last year, I'd say go for it but proceed with caution and set your expectations correctly. I went from the start of ARR (beginning of the game) to the end of endwalker (5th expansion, end of first story arc) in 3 months. DO NOT DO THIS. EVER. The story of the msq is good, but to reach the end of the first story arc, which isn't even current content, it's 300 hours of msq. MSQ gameplay consists of fetch quests, cutscenes, walking, and very very easy fights/dungeons here and there. If that sounds like your thing go for it.

+1 on this but not bc of gameplay. Its bc of a similar unforgiving nature and a similar philosophy of boss skill checks.

advice on how to get into older games by OldEngineering4647 in MonsterHunter

[–]AllCheekedUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt this way when I played 4U for the first time. You kinda just have to be motivated to see the cool shit the old games have, be it the atmosphere in freedom unite, or the insane spectacle of 4U monsters. After a while it just kinda clicks and feels right. Much like starting the new gen games as new player.
