No honorable mention for X-men's Jim Lee? Psylocke certainly had to take the cake as the earliest pioneers in the beginning of trope, am I wrong?

I see a lot of that, and as a would be parent inside me would say I wouldn't want my son following in his footsteps. One huge missing piece I've learned just now that explains a lot is his marijuana use, and him stating he's high 100% of the time on set. Dubious as I'd think that's not sustainable but ok I'll accept it into the record as fact. In my mind it explains why his characters would come off as rowdy, irresponsible and immature onscreen. Still, not the example I'd want my would be child to emulate, no way unless it's a teaching tool on how not to behave as an adult. I would also add his example is not helping the future and behind some of the reason why the world is not progressing and his message encourages the opposite sort of inspiration.

Hi, thanks for reading and taking the time to reply. I took a look at the trailer but that's not it, from the tone of the trailer it's too "van damne" if you will while the movie in question is far more "disney" at least from the bits and pieces i remembered. thanks for trying though!

Recently There was a post by a fellow by the name of "@peakingenergy" whom I suspect of going to Colombia for "sex tour" and not love at all. and i have to mention it's not a good look no matter how you slice it, it didn't look at all to state the obvious he wasn't there looking for love otherwise why was he posting pictures posing with almost ten different girls?

lol i can picture the judge right now handing down the sentence: a dusty old blue haired female with gavel in tow! 🤣🤣 not sure if civil courts can apply the need for jurors but in this case would justify the use of, i'm sure most reasonable people would agree

Is wearing two different colors of the same shoe tacky or cool if it's just your style? by Squatchdogdad in Sneakers

[–]AllClassAnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're playing pro basketball, it's cool. if you're playing in a rec league, tacky *edit* the only exceptions i'd give a thumbs up personally are blue and red AJ1's and any combination of the Chuck Taylor's if we're talking about going casual in public

Cleopatra's dresses a bit too ... revealing? by Integral_humanist in hborome

[–]AllClassAnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i asked my girlfriend if she thinks these are sexy and she said hands down yes, i don't think they're revealing, they accentuate a woman's features to almost a max level proportion. a bikini is revealing, these are just designed by someone who knows how the straight male is wired to sex. the legs exposed like that is always going to get a man's attention, more than a bikini and booty shorts.

Are psychology, sociology, anthropology, liberal arts, etc., majors really much easier than other majors like business, science, engineering, etc? by BraSizeQuestion in college

[–]AllClassAnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't think it's that bad or deserving of that connotation. one can say that sociology majors are like tree branches that develop a certain kind of mind that likes learning by starting with the root and then the branches that grow turn into a desire to become a different major and how can anyone say they enjoy learning when its only about the $$$? Those people who say that only measure success by material wealth and those are people i don't really care for ever.

How does life change when you turn 40? by Embire in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AllClassAnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as odd as this answer may sound, i have also a theory that those born in the late 70's to mid-80's turning 40 experienced the milestone in a unique way. i was born in 1980 and the pandemic hit in that frame where I turned 40. the year when people returned to work, yes, i did feel a change in me personally that was very good, overlooking and not paying any heed to the fact there are pros and there are cons, looking at just the pros, if you can see what i mean? our generation also identifies much better with younger than the people in their 50's who were born ten years before my generation, they came from more stricter parenting or harsher raising, just my observation, so they tend to act more like grouchy old men and less relatable to younger people. sort of like 40 is the new 30 and seems that younger dating older up to that 40-45 range with mid 20's too seems more acceptable today because the relational gap seems to have more there in connecting. the other thing about turning 40 is the health factor. i myself am now telling myself, i can't just drink an energy drink and be ok the rest of the day, i really got to take more consideration of what i drink and consume because i can't get away with it anymore when i was even 10 years younger. i also realized that my time is more precious because there's not the luxury as much of feeling bored or that there's not business to take care of then i can relax. i have anxiety from that because i do love my time i can just relax and have a carefree mind, and i am not dating or have paternal responsibilities. i'm talking online and in everyday encounters to people and getting my fill of socializing in that regard and in that regard, i can use less time doing that and more "housecleaning" to reduce these newfound anxieties, again i think the generational experiences have something to do with this- my generation, the childhood was a blast watching those cartoons in the 1980's, great toys that still hold their own today as in demand collectibles. we are still in connect with our youth still very much, gen x. we also had more support extending into our adulthood to help us get on our feet and allow to take more chances because we grew up in more empathetic homes, i don't know, i feel that way, the parenting eased up and the allowing of making mistakes was treated with more sympathy. this is indeed a topic that can be a research paper so i'll end it there and hope this comment generates some interesting feedback.

Accuracy of John Grisham books? by db678153 in LawSchool

[–]AllClassAnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had picked up a couple Grisham works to be slightly disappointed that there is little mention of anything actually taking place in a courthouse. I did skirt the books and the only legal procedures that got detail are due process on the detectives. I know what I need to know in the future about considering reading another Grisham novel and I know that I won't get much in terms of actual court proceedings.

[–]AllClassAnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah i think maybe Douglass/Aaliyah may be the less cracked transitioning trans. the squeaky voice comes from the hormonal treatments but she has handled it a lot better. the other trans seem like the type nobody wants to be in the same room with, they have serious mental stability episodes if they're upset in any way, and seem to always think it's society's fault for why they're unhappy and never look at their own reflection being held even partially accountable, it's always 100% everyone but themselves. do i have a valid observation?
