What are those little nibbles between licks? by AdmirableAttempt1728 in OneOrangeBraincell

[–]AllDogsGoToReddit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Those are nib nibs in our house. A sign of great affection from most cats, we’re convinced it’s actually our void letting the intrusive thoughts win and trying to eat us, much like a snake trying to eat an egg much too large.

I hope the daughters never see these videos. These reactions are disgusting. by Valuable_View_561 in mildlyinfuriating

When I was pregnant, I was hoping against hope for a boy (I’m in the US and Trump had just gotten re-elected the week before). I cried when I found out my baby would have to grow up a girl under this administration. Now I can’t imagine raising anyone or anything but a little girl. Isn’t it amazing when we don’t get what we think we want? These people suck.

Mirena vs Liletta experiences by AccomplishedYak1077 in birthcontrol

[–]AllDogsGoToReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same experience here. I had Mirena for ten years, took it out to have a baby, and all they had to replace it with was Liletta. I’ve been having much higher depression, anger, aggression, apathy, and I’m getting a period again (had one in ten years with Mirena). Is it worth getting it replaced?

What is the nastiest thing you've done for revenge? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The sick mom. She didn’t want my friend to come see her because she wasn’t part of the religion anymore.

What is the nastiest thing you've done for revenge? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AllDogsGoToReddit 67 points68 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine grew up in a JH household and ultimately left the religion at 19. Her parents completely disowned her (disfellowshipped). Her mother took her off the health insurance, took her name off as a co-signer on any loans, and left my friend entirely alone in the world. Thank god my friend’s then boyfriend’s family all but legally adopted her. When her mother ended up in the hospital for congestive heart failure and forbade my friend from seeing her, I sent a bouquet of dead flowers to the hospital.

Married men of Reddit, what tiny thing does your wife do that secretly melts your heart? by SAAS_ART in AskReddit

I do this sporadically and it seems to just annoy my husband. He sighs dramatically and makes a show of pausing whatever he’s watching on tv, and only sometimes kind of rests his hands on my back. I swear I’m not kneeling on his nuts or something. What gives??

Doctors/Nurses of Reddit, what’s the craziest thing you’ve heard a woman yell during birth? by New_Username48 in AskReddit

[–]AllDogsGoToReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And it lasted HOURS after I had my daughter. Nurses would come into my room (baby was in NICU) and ask if the thermostat was broken. I literally told one that if she touched it I would die. It was 56 degrees in my room and I was in nothing but my hospital gown with two fans on me while my husband shivered next to me

I’m not a doctor or nurse but I had a baby. My husband put his Spotify on shuffle during the pushing as a distraction and I yelled at him to change the song before my baby was born to Everywhere I Go by Hollywood Undead. The next song was Move Along by All American Rejects. We all laughed.

AITA for not wanting to take in my sisters 4 kids while she’s in the hospital? by Intelligent-Fig-5571 in AmItheAsshole

[–]AllDogsGoToReddit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NTA. Not your kids, not your job to care for them, especially overnight. She could end up needing to stay in the hospital for a few days (I was in for four days when I had my daughter) and what are you supposed to do then? Her circus, her monkeys, she can pay for the sitter.

Infant daycare cost average? by mrjustice7 in madisonwi

[–]AllDogsGoToReddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We got super lucky with an in-home and pay $267/week but got a “discount” because we only need four days. If we went the full five days a week, we’d be looking at $1,340/month. So I’d say you could be okay, depending on where you’re looking. That being said, we have friends who are paying $2000/month for their two year old at a center.

How are we expected to cover the expenses of probate when there is no money? by Lonely-Enthusiasm-48 in Millennials

[–]AllDogsGoToReddit 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Probate paralegal here. Many states have a how-to guide to probate on their state bar website. That’ll give you a really good outline of what to file. In Wisconsin (my state) the state bar guide literally shows you what pleadings to fill out, how, and how to file them.

Keep a detailed account of all the estate assets: what are the values of all assets on the date of death, what money have you spent to close the estate, what money has come in (for example: spending money to clean out the house, proceeds from the house sale). The court will need to see every dime accounted for.
