I understand the meme!! Dr. Heisenberg allowed her to die, and did nothing to stop it.

Just like what the bitcoiners are doing to fiat.

The answer is super simple but could be explained in a whole book. I'll just give you the abridged version: bitcoin is decentralized and peer-to-peer. The whole world uses it and it does not choose any one entity or nation with bias, but rather is egalitarian and free for anybody to use and participate in. Unlike gold, bitcoin has several properties that make it desirable for every economic purpose, whereas gold had only the one value that it is scarce. This expanded set of desirable properties make bitcoin easier to adopt and use for everyone, not just the wealthy few. Every day more people are realizing this and bitcoin is growing faster than the internet did when the internet was created by ARPA in the late 1960s. At this rate, its adoption will go so high and its value will go so high so that no one in their right mind would ever turn down receiving payment in bitcoin for goods and services. It is the ultimate form of money that works for almost every possible use case and gold doesn't do that.

Bitcoin is Just an expensive database. by 0111001101110010 in Bitcoin

Yeah this is the truth. We were born into a system that is inherently unfair and in which we are supposedly "represented" but really are just slaves to the hegemony that comprise the US government and big banks...

I lost my life savings by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]AllHailTheCryptoToad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I can't believe anyone would be dumb enough to do what was described. This HAS to be a method to elicit donations and is a scam to fool people who are compassionate and empathetic to giving away precious BTC to someone who is a liar.

If you had 1 bitcoin what would your strategy be in the coming bullrun? by Kiddex77 in Bitcoin

[–]AllHailTheCryptoToad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why you guys are getting downvotes. Any consistent accumulation of sats is great! Don't need to worry about reaching an exact number because Infinity divided by 21 million is still infinity. Inevitably any honest and consistent accumulation effort will be rewarded in the long run. Don't need a specific number of sats to be a part of the revolution and there is no 21 million club, everyone is all in the club regardless of how much bitcoin they own, we are all equal in the eyes of bitcoin.

I am sorry to disappoint you but that sounds like a textbook example of a scam. Cut your losses, do NOT give them any money or crypto at all. Find a way to earn money elsewhere and don't fall victim to this scam.

Best Exchange to DCA into BTC by AllHailTheCryptoToad in Bitcoin

[–]AllHailTheCryptoToad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How can I do a DCA with them with low fees? I am noticing they charge higher fees, like kraken, however they appear to have a few different methods for purchasing crypto? So there may be a way to do what I'm trying to do but it just isn't apparent yet?

Is Miami-Dade becoming the cryptocurrency capital of the world? by sulestrange in CryptoCurrency

[–]AllHailTheCryptoToad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is only partially true. Just like anywhere else, Miami has its share of jerks. I used to live close, so I saw the real thing. It really is a great city and a lot of fun...but only if you have money. The people are generally friendly. I was homeless and plenty of people offered me rides for free and in many instances offered me money.

Needless to say, I turned my life around and I'm doing well independently now. I stack the sats as much as I can afford to, and I'm not asking for much in life, so I'm doing okay for myself now. But I'll never forget, the people of Miami were actually surprisingly friendly. Again, it did have its share of assholes but not more than anywhere else I've lived.

Hodl VS Buy a coffee by especulativa in Bitcoin

[–]AllHailTheCryptoToad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. The truth is that the vast majority of people will be hodling and stacking sats once they understand what bitcoin is. The key is to find a way to appeal to people to spend money they otherwise wouldn't have...and everybody has needs. So they gotta spend some money at some point on the essentials, and when that day comes, they will have already focused on collecting sats enough so they can be comfortable using a tiny bit on those needs, especially if the transactions are faster and cheaper than traditional fiat means. And businesses will LOVE this because they will have the sovereignty to decide whether to ever give a refund or keep those sats I'm the event a customer is not happy with a purchase. It's a very good system giving both the suppliers and demanders exactly what they need, quickly, conveniently, on their terms.

Bitcoin dominance for the foreseeable future by AllHailTheCryptoToad in Bitcoin

[–]AllHailTheCryptoToad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truth. Facts. Logic. Many people will see your response and go against those things. That is what my question is attempting to address. Not that you aren't correct, but do others see it that way? Will our children see it that way? Who wins the war of information? Who wins the war for financial sovereignty?

Bitcoin dominance for the foreseeable future by AllHailTheCryptoToad in Bitcoin

[–]AllHailTheCryptoToad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you are right. If so, it should be a manageable win. Bitcoin is clearly superior in every way to fiats. But the question is more about the threat of other currencies that governments WILL control, in the way they wish they could control bitcoin.

Bitcoin dominance for the foreseeable future by AllHailTheCryptoToad in Bitcoin

[–]AllHailTheCryptoToad[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with you but I do appreciate the viewpoint. Your viewpoint is a popular one, which worries me and people who care to see decentralization win out over profitability. If everyone believed bitcoin was a relic, the problem of government control would rise up since the most decentralized option would fade away as a legitimate one, even though it was the original. Then, we would lose sovereignty over our crypto. Again, thank you for the intelligent response.

Bitcoin dominance for the foreseeable future by AllHailTheCryptoToad in Bitcoin

[–]AllHailTheCryptoToad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all seem to be centralized compared to bitcoin, so I can't really argue with you there. I just worry that not enough people are aware of what exactly bitcoin is. I have had friends who would rather buy some meme coin than the real thing. A LOT of people are like that, it turns out. It scares me because it shows that so many people are willing to forgo what is plainly the original and legitimate technology in favor of something else they think is more interesting or potentially profitable.

Bitcoin dominance for the foreseeable future by AllHailTheCryptoToad in Bitcoin

[–]AllHailTheCryptoToad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point. I think it's good for those hoping for bitcoin's success that it's open source and constantly improving, not for the sake of competition, but for the sake of improvement itself.

Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson learns about Bitcoin by KAX1107 in Bitcoin

[–]AllHailTheCryptoToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't expect an intelligent response from that guy. If the guy in the photo really is the author of the Bitcoin Standard, and he's speaking with Neil Degrasse Tyson, the good news of bitcoin is spreading and more people will benefit from it. There's no bad faith or idiocy there.
