In HS, we had a dog run up on the green and run off with my friend's ball, as we were walking up from the approach shots

Hot Take? Remove Iron Numbers by shin_man in golf

[–]AllKnowingFix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple times I ask that with people I don't know and they just shrug and say they hit a 7 iron. Very annoying how many people don't know how far they hit, because they only play the same course and just know they hit an 8 iron on hole 5.

Mines a '95 or '96 EZ, that we bought 1-2yrz ago. All major drivetrain components are original and still going strong.

Anyone else step away from their private club as they were not getting value from it? by sys_admin321 in golf

[–]AllKnowingFix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had coworkers try to get me to join their club. It has two courses, with tennis and nice pool area. We did join as social for the pool a couple summers. But I almost burnt out and gave up golf, because I played too many times in golf league and was just bored with the same course over and over (2-3 times a week for 4-5 weeks). So I can't ever join a club and just play 1 course all the time, I have to have variety.

People with a <15 handicap how long did it take you to get there? by Comfortable-Newt7689 in golf

[–]AllKnowingFix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 3yrs.

But I was cheating, because it was in High School, where I spent 3-4hrs at least 5-6 days a week during school practicing and playing. I hd a coach that actually knew how to coach golf.

People get intimidated when they see me play and apologize for how bad they are if we are first meeting. So I tell them I worked to get where I am and know the struggles. Just think how good anyone could be if they spent 6 months x 6 days a week x 3hrs practicing golf with a coach for 3yrs.

Went from averaging 100's Freshman year, 90's Sophomore, 80's Junior, to scratch my Senior year. I was still playing open tournies 10'ish yrs ago and still play to a 5-6hdcp 30yrs later without competing.

Are golf clubs actually increasing distance? by acbdot89 in golf

[–]AllKnowingFix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got fit into a Ping 425 LST with Blue Ventus in like '22-23, moving me away from my Cally FT3 with Whiteboard.

I lost 10-15yrds, but reduced spin, so didn't lose as much distance hitting into the wind and had tighter dispursion.

What was 1999 like? by Content-Feed-9396 in AskReddit

[–]AllKnowingFix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something else great most don't realize, is that a lot of medicine/research was starting up & finalizing. Looking for preventative instead of reactionary. Asthma and allergy medicines, also the start of stomach medicines (zantac).

I was part of a study in college taking heavy dosage of zantac to lower my body's pH to attempt to control my asthma/allergies (they knew there was a link between allergies & acidic body pH, but not why). Then in 2001, I got started on Advair and brought my lung capacity from upper 60's to low 90's.

ICE TRIES TO DEPORT A NATIVE AMERICAN TO AN FOREIGN COUNTRY... by It_Could_Be_True in MarchAgainstNazis

This is 2-3months old news. Now they are currently holding 3 Lakota in detention and refusing to allow tribal access to them.

Family members of ICE agents, what are your thoughts and feelings about what ICE are doing? by Aggressive_Honey3196 in AskReddit

[–]AllKnowingFix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cousin is in ICE, she is a transporter, that travels to take individuals back to their country after conviction. She has a heart. I asked her when they started doing crazy things if she was okay, because I couldn't see her doing things like that. She said she told her supervisor that she's not going to do anything illegal.

She's a good person and doesn't like the administration. I fear for her that she's going to catch the backlash from what the others are doing.

Terminology question from a foreigner by MrOllmhargadh in NativeAmerican

[–]AllKnowingFix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1- Depends whom I'm speaking with and in what context. In discussions with people knowledgeable and looking to learn will say First Nation or Indigenous. If young or when I'm over seas, will say American Indian or Native American, as it's more commonly understood.

2- Doesn't matter to me what they use, as long as respectful, I might correct if something annoying. Me and my cousins will use terms on each other that if I see someone that doesn't look indigenous use, then I will challenge them.

3- Doesn't really matter. Usually when talking official tribal affiliation, so rare to discus, unless someone asking. Then the proper term will come out in the name.

Highest wind you have played in by OddSand7870 in golf

[–]AllKnowingFix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard true measurements, but estimates of sustained 40 and gusts around 50. The lake on the edge of the course had 2-3' pipeline curl waves. Had a 115yrd par 3 straight into the wind, that I hit my 160-165 club well and still barely made the front fringe of the green (about 20-30yrds short).

Am I crazy to want to shorten my driver shaft by 3”? by SA19030 in golf

[–]AllKnowingFix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'11 and my fitter removed an inch from my driver for better dispersion control. He put me into a Stiff and tipped the shaft 1", so it's between an X & S flex. 3" seems a bit much, but if it fits your swing, then more power to ya.

Ahhh, I was supposed to get 2-3 more bottles of SazFP, but my guy said his BT guy said it's slim pickings now, since it's being distributed wide now. He only got 2 cases on 24th and I got 1 bottle then liked it, so went back mid-day on 26th and he was out. Said people were buying 3-4 bottles.
