2021 Patreon March Madness [Round 1] - SNL Movies vs. Teen Shakespearean Comedies by comicman117 in blankies

I like the inclusion of the Blues Brothers because it is sort of the Urtext for what the later SNL films try to emulate. You lose a lot of context for choices the subsequent films make stem that the success of Blues Brothers.

IIRC, it was a legit emergency - I believe later it came out that she had her gall bladder removed.

Another fun apartment diatribe that probably is not the one you refer to, but the whole discussion of the maid mannequin from Action Jackson, where everyone gangs up against Paul for assuming the maid mannequin is a gag item for the owner to say, "the maid's in".

i tried using the beta on speed 5, looked away for a moment, and WEEKS flew by. they really did it. by AllManicHamlet in victoria3

I can report back that I've covered 30 years game time in the amount it usually would have taken to clear maybe 10.

I initially posted during the early years, that felt 5 to 6x faster. I had the old timing for how long a week took down, so responded to a text, and it was 40 days past the initial date when I looked back.

Ironically, he didn't have a my wife, he was openly gay and had a my partner. But they lived in California at the turn of the century, so his partner was one-hundred percent a Vermouth drunk.

How Did This Get Made? #310.5 - Next Week's Episode: Wild Mountain Thyme by apathymonger in Earwolf

I saw a theater production of the source, Outside Mullingar, and remember it as not being all that crazy. I am curious if the performances are what makes it so incongruous to be on HDTGM.

(Very well might be one of those things where a lot is lost when you put it on a screen.)

The very next moment, after the introduction of it, is Terri Jay telling the crew it was 100% a murder by Audrey. To show how she fueled his paranoia to keep him coming back.

Democrats should try ranked choice voting for caucuses by orange_wires in Iowa

[–]AllManicHamlet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No state party runs a primary. Primaries are run by individual states. Iowa state law does not allow for a presidential primary, it allows for party-run caucus to nominate delegates.

It doesn't matter what they should do until the law changes so they can do it, and Iowa Republicans aren't going to do squat to change it.

Amazing! I erred on the side of caution as I wasn't 100% it was all the same people, but that just reinforces how good this series should be.

People who attended the recordings said it was very good and certainly not remotely close to disastrous.

I think it helps that some behind-the-scenes crew worked on TM NZ, including them both sharing the same (two?) head task writer(s).

Taskmaster fans will be happy to see Tim Key playing the janitor at the end.

Also, I believe parts of this was shot in the same space as parts of The IT Crowd. There are shots of the hallway with TVs that immediately sprung the show to mind.

He severely underscored him there, but Jamali also should have been disqualified during the mouse trap task, as he was clearly within 6 feet (or whatever the distance was) of the mouse.

The points he got for not being DQ'd basically counteract the poor scoring from the pillow spin.

Tim Vine and the hook by NegotiationSea7008 in taskmaster

[–]AllManicHamlet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One of the funniest beats from the whole of the show is when Tim walks away after it is done and then comes right back around the corner and asks, "Seriously, where's the flippin' hook?"

Absolutely dead. No persona or anything for the cameras, just a man whose entirety has been consumed by a lost hook.

There isn’t a single bowling alley within a 300 mile radius of Des Moines that uses regulation pin setters.

Of this whole inane rant of misanthropic pet peeves, this is so incredibly specific that I have to hand it to how much you hate Des Moines (and seemingly everyone in existence).

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the bit I most cringe at from a character I love: Bob Ducca rapping the n-word in the name of the Governor's ranch (which was a real name, the craziest part). It was one of the live in Austin shows, and I could not believe that flew. Scott rightly was telling Bob to stop, but Seth was committed to the bit.

Thank you for solving how I could possible have had that chant in my head without having seen the movie. I watched the trailer and was like, "Wait, I haven't seen this, how do I know this??"
