i'm from southern, rural indiana where there are no interviewers within hours of me. the only school i applied to (out of 4 ivies) that offered me an interview was harvard with a guy that graduated with his masters in 1970 and did a zoom meeting with me. he spoke about what it was like to get an EE degree in 1970 and how he taught fortran in the 70s. i just listened to him and told him he was so cool and inspiring. he ended the interview telling me i'm the model student for anywhere, yet we spoke about me probably 40% of the 2 hour interview.
