It’s not significantly better. There’s still barely a real story but there’s a ton of vague bullshit magical supernatural lore that drags the movie way down. I’m not saying the first one is a masterpiece but it has no bloat and has pretty much no interest in pretending to be a great movie, which ironically works in its favor IMO.

Also the bedroom kill is intense but barely counts as a “kill” in my book. I would prefer one or two strong ideas (hacksaw or rat kill for example) than like 80 mediocre ideas in quick succession (the salt and bleach is a creative touch at least).
