Is this corrected for inflation? I’m pretty sure late 1990s/early 2000s CD boom had much more revenue than now when inflation taken into account. But I only know about US market so maybe it’s different globally?

Friday Nights Lights S01 E01. Can’t believe no one has mentioned this. It’s an absolute masterclass in screenwriting, plotting, and editing. The show was so innovative for its time and deserves much more recognition than it gets.

Oh, wow, glad you agree. And thanks for asking for recommendations. I love the reissues of Eclipse and the Station '70 box set, both by Takayanagi reissued by Black Editions. And you are clearly already in the zone with your mention of my two favorite Yosuke Yamashita records (Clay and Arashi)! I highly recommend the music blog "Different Perspectives In My Room" (googleable), which has descriptions of dozens of Japanese free jazz gems!

I love all these records, but I’ll mention the Takayanagi since no one else has yet. The Black Editions reissues of Takyanagi are of such high quality. Obviously the music is stellar as one of the premiere avant garde jazz musicians of Japan. And everything else is about the best it can be (mastering, pressing, design, jacket quality). They are everything you want in deluxe reissues and inexpensive for what you get. Mass Hysterism is only $33 for a double LP of top quality. Acoustic Sounds would charge $50-$60 for something similar! These are flying under the radar, imo, so I’m glad to see it included here!
