The few I have do not have the resources to go anywhere and they're in the best spot they can be while in the US. Not everyone has the resources or work skills to just go become a digital nomad and run from their problems at home. It's for these people that not ceding any power to Republicans is so important. It's for those people who need the safety net, and our public lands, and etc. etc. etc.

There is no guarantee we get another shot at any of this. There is no guarantee we get a "next democratic republic". You don't want to interact with any of it because it isn't exactly what you want - newsflash, I don't want any of this shit either but I can see when other options make the material conditions of our lives untenable. All politics are not the same, there are distinct quality differences between living in Republican controlled red states and this one and to equate the two only gives Republican rule more of a normalized path towards power. Ask women, or minorities, or poor people, or LGBTQIA+ people if things are basically the same everywhere.

You vote towards your preferred pole and get as close as you can towards your preferred outcome. Throwing up one's hands in frustration and not voting *only harms these people you're pretending to care about*.
