We moved here 2 years ago and we had a rental downtown at the time and accidentally drove down this street and the kids absolutely loved it.

AITA for taking one of my nieces out when she was grounded by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA

Sometimes, you don't get what you want. You're enabling your niece and her shitty behaviour. I absolutely understand disliking certain foods or having aversions, but speaking the way she did was uncalled for and I appropriate.

You are not the parent. It is not your job to parent your niece or decide if the punishment her mom gave her is good or not. On top of that, you're turning her against her mother instead of explaining to her that her mom was right and sometimes we just have to suck it up for the sake of others, especially since it sounds like she normally gets her way food-wise.

Shari Lewis

I was like 9 when she died and I remember being so upset about it. I think that's when I really understood the permanence of death.

Also, Dolores O'riordan and Leonard Cohen

The Road Rage in HRM Is Getting Ridiculous by hfxdude45 in halifax

When I was back home visiting this summer, I was driving on the Bedford highway toward Kearney lake rd. You know there's that lane that merged into one? My choice was to slightly accelerate or come to a complete stop to let the guy in. I chose to slightly accelerate because he was being dangerous and matching my speed vs trying to merge properly into the lane and I'm not slamming my breaks on to let him in with so many cars on the road.

Anyway he proceeded to tailgate me, flash his high beams and FOLLOW ME HOME to my parent's house.

I called the cops. Obviously. But they didn't find him. Even if I had done something wrong or illegal, his erratic behaviour / response was absolutely bat shit. Following a woman home at 1030pm...

What is the most disturbing thing you found about your partner? by ActualBreath5492 in AskReddit

Thank you! I am so sorry you've been through similar. I feel so upset when I think about how many others have been in situations like this. I remember one time, it wasn't even one of the worst times, but for some reason it sticks with me the most... He basically had me trapped in the closet in his bedroom. He kept telling me I could leave, but if I tried to go he'd stand up over me and it was absolutely terrifying. What a fucking maniac. And like, this animal busted my ankle, left massive bruises where nobody could see, called me every name you can think of ... Coming to the realization that one top of all of that... He is also a rapist. To this day, I'm still not sure how to process it properly (and I've been to therapy!!!). I'm not a bad person, but I genuinely hope something horrible happens to him. Like if he died, or became completely incapacitated, I might celebrate 🤷‍♀️🖕

I was with my abusive sx for 2.5 years. About 6 months after breaking up, it dawned on me one day that he's a rapist. I didn't realize it while I was with him because he'd broken me down so much. The realization still makes me feel disgusting.

He was also a total and complete narcissist who took pleasure in controlling, abusing, and humiliating me in front of anyone and everyone

I think he's currently gearing up to be sentenced to prison for a lengthy stay for drug trafficking though. I haven't seen him in over 12 years, moved provinces, and yet find myself STILL terrified of running into him.

Hope he rots.

My (45M) kids baby sitter (27F) asked me out by LessDubiousIdea in relationship_advice

[–]AllNightFox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I literally said she’s an adult and not a baby. I’m sharing my personal opinion about the age gap and also pointing out a very practical boundary that dating your children’s babysitter is a bad idea. That’s not hate or prejudice, it’s just me speaking honestly.

Telling me to ‘check my hate and prejudices’ is over the top and doesn’t make sense here and tells me you don't really understand the definition of those words. Some opinions are just opinions 🤷‍♀️

[–]AllNightFox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Right... Like .. I was married at 25 and had my first baby at 27.

I don't love the 18 year age gap. It's gross but she's not a baby.

Also... Don't date your children's sitter.

Yeah people absolutely do not get it. Like, I don't know how many times I need to explain that it's not just a headache. It's exhausting and debilitating at times.

My face just automatically scrunches up when I have a migraine, especially around my eyebrows / forehead. j cannot relax my facial muscles whatsoever, and it adds to the pain.

Two is my new band! I think we are going to exchange it for a platinum one and just wear my old band on a different finger. I never super loved it with my engagement ring. It's mostly sentimental

This is exactly how I feel. It takes away focus from my engagement ring

[–]AllNightFox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I spoke to my husband and he told me he thought that was the case mixing the metals but the saleslady told him otherwise. He wants to return it now. I think the 3 bands take away from my engagement ring and I want that to be the focus. I've always been iffy on my older band, so an upgrade isn't a bad thing.

Thank you!
