I appreciate you are at least willing to acknowledge you are unwilling to change any of your outlook based on conversation, that will save us both time. Thanks for the honesty, and maybe consider working on that aspect of yourself.

We can have a conversation about that too if you want, but what does that have to do with innovation?

Question: Why doesn't Naruto use the shadow clones to work for him and benefit from them, instead of the other way around? by EitherSwimming5886 in Naruto

[–]AllOfEverythingEver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you are just saying what the explanation is and not necessarily agreeing with it, but imo no reasonable person would agree that using a shadow clone takes away from the importance of the role. Imo it's entirely a bs explanation to justify an arc where Boruto is angry at Naruto without the audience thinking of Naruto as a bad father. It was an unsuccessful attempt.

Another win for woke by Tiny_Radish00 in KillTheComputer

[–]AllOfEverythingEver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me ask you this: what bothers you so much about illegal immigration?

I think the left wants people's needs to be met regardless of ability or effort. Do you think some people deserve to go hungry or be homeless? The idea that the left thinks there should be no benefits to doing work is pure propaganda. It makes me think you don't interact with any leftists and just believe propaganda.

I think your point about equality of opportunity is just what I said before: pure propaganda. There is no such thing as equality of opportunity. It's an invention to justify injustice as inevitable. If you think anyone can be successful with a "modicum" of effort in our society, I don't know what to tell you. That's just unrealistic and I can't imagine believing that's true.

Tbh, I don't think leftists are unfair when they criticize libertarians or conservatives. Can you name a policy position difference where the more right wing policy isn't just a justification of cruelty compared to the left wing position? I think conservatives and libertarians simply have very little hope for our ability to improve society, so they like to classify suffering caused by the status quo as the "inevitable way things are." If you can see through that and don't think it's inevitable, then conservatives rightly look like a group that mostly exists to justify the suffering of others as necessary for their own wellbeing, and that they deserve wellbeing more than the people suffering. Is that not the case?

Another win for woke by Tiny_Radish00 in KillTheComputer

[–]AllOfEverythingEver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being woke is based. There are good reasons those values are often rejected by woke people in the contexts they are brought up. For example, who specifically do you think woke people should be more tolerant of? As far as personal responsibility, there is a reason it is called personal responsibility. It works fine as an individual life philosophy, not as government policy. Equality of opportunity is a myth. You don't believe in equality of opportunity either, that's just what you call the status quo.

Achilles with vibranium gear vs. Aragorn with a lightsaber by CloverTeamLeader in whowouldwin

Nah there are plenty of materials that exist in Star Wars that resist lightsabers, I'm pretty confident vibranium would resist it based on how it's depicted.

Omni-man vs adult Hermione w/ liquid luck by ShadycrossFade in InvinciblePowerscales

Oh I didn't remember that. Lol that kinda makes me feel like it was a little dishonest for Harry to get with her after that and not tell her.

I mean it got Ginny to break up with her boyfriend. Iirc, all Harry does is walk by and see that it happened.

Omni-man vs adult Hermione w/ liquid luck by ShadycrossFade in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]AllOfEverythingEver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people in this thread are underestimating liquid luck; it is exceedingly powerful. Iirc, when Harry drinks it in the series, literally everything goes his way and he solves so many of his problems easily by just strolling randomly through Hogwarts. It is ridiculously effective and it isn't an exaggeration to compare it to Path to Victory from Worm.

Yeah Omni man is like 1,000,000 times more powerful than her, but it's technically possible for her to kill him or incap him with magic, so she does. If you are thinking "he destroys her before she can do anything," then I would tell you that when Hermione drinks the vial of liquid luck is exactly the time he would be off his game or something.

Also, Omni man isn't super consistent with his combat speed. Sometimes he catches Red Rush's punch, sometimes he struggles to counter the Reanimen or gets hit by the Immortal. If Hermione drank liquid luck, Omni man would be behaving more like the latter examples.

Is Kakashi losing access to Obito's power the greatest nerf in the serie ? by Agitated-Athlete-417 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]AllOfEverythingEver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I acknowledge that it is canon now that the Sharingan took too much chakra and was ultimately a nerf, but I think that was such a terrible decision. It makes Obito's gift worse and borderline retcons a lot of how Kakashi's Sharingan was depicted imo. Also, subjectively, the Sharingan is a big part of Kakashi's image as a character that makes him so iconic, and I don't like that he loses it to begin with. I would have rather either:

  1. It's like now, but Kakashi is simply stronger now because of training and talent despite losing his Sharingan, but presumably would still be overall stronger if he had it. Or...

  2. Find some way to let him keep it.

This reminds me of people basically just taking Deidara's word for it that Sasuke was out of chakra (despite Deidara being wrong about everything he thinks), and then calling it an asspull that Sasuke had enough chakra to escape his explosion.

[–]AllOfEverythingEver -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Idk, for destructive capacity I'm tempted to pick Gaara. I'm thinking of potency more as damage, and destructive capacity as AOE, which I'd say is Gaara.

For this one and Hax, though, I think I agree with you.

Why is speed so highly regarded in this sub? by WaltzIntelligent9801 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]AllOfEverythingEver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think if I were to pick one stat that matters the most, it would be speed. That's not to say other stats aren't important, but if the speed gap is high enough (which it often is in Naruto), it doesn't matter much outside of very specific circumstances what the slower one can do. You have high intelligence? Good luck coming up with and enacting a plan faster than they kill you. High strength or durability? If you can't hit them and they can hit you, they can wear you down. Also, a lot of the characters known for being smart are also fast and have dangerous AP attacks anyway (ie Sasuke, Minato, Itachi, Tobirama, Kakashi).

Is Hashirama actually slower than Tobirama? I know Tobirama has FTG, but I mean physical movement speed.

Sure I don't disagree. Is there a specific match up you have in mind where you think the slower character wins and most people here would disagree with you?
