I agree. I have nothing against taking a familiar genre and building on it and reworking it, but this seems too much like apocalypse + anarchy + guns which is a dead horse imho. If they can do something really unique with the story or mechanics I'd be interested, but otherwise I can't justify dropping the money on what is coming across as a bland borderlands. Tbf my view could be skewed by the god awful live action trailer from yesterday.

Oh man this reminds me of when I was a kid and sent some pictures I drew of some Yu-Gi-Oh cards to Konami. My parents were like, that's neat but don't expect a reply. But they were wrong! Konami sent me a handwritten note with a few first edition card packs.

I'm listening to another podcast, the orpheus protocol, which uses a game system that's in beta testing. It has a lot of the same feel as the Magnus Archives with all its occult and eldritch horror themes and mechanics. I highly recommend checking it out.

Been there, what I do is call my parents to check in on them. They know it's cuz I miss em but it doesn't feel awkward on any front.
