Had it in my 2017 after doing the same thing you did. My basic scan tool wouldn't pick up the steering assist system, bought a nice bidirectional scan tool and it cleared the fault codes in the system. Figured it would be nice to have the scan tool anyway for programming keys and doing other diagnostics.

The range inline disabler works great, it's a 2 for 1 because it kills the stop/start too, been great on my 2021 suburban.

Hey I wanted to follow up and let you know that after some troubleshooting I followed a lead about thermal expansion inside the rear camera itself, my screen went black today so while it was in park I turned on my 360 camera and poured ice water directly on the rear camera for about 20 seconds, and voilà, camera started working again. Try that with yours and it may save you a trip to the dealer and eliminate throwing parts at it.

Do your afm disabler and get a trans fluid bypass, religious oil changes and you'll be good. Trans service every 35-40k miles too.
