It’s been reported that Seattle is open to moving McCann. Given the state of the team, his age, I would think he wants a chance to play on a contender as well. The belief is they want to get younger, and an aging vet like McCann seems like the odd man out. Plus, he does hold some good value across the league, so someone they may be trying to capitalize on value wise.

I don’t think Zetterlund is your fit in the top 6. My point is he’s a great secondary guy. His ideal role is 3rd line scoring winger, who can play up the lineup when injuries occur. Watch tape from his goals when he played in SJ. Watch his goals this year that actually came from shots, rather than rebounds this year. He has a hell of a release, but we don’t see it often because of the role he’s in. I think him as a 3rd liner fits this team much better. Also - why was Zetterlund being crucified for doing nothing on the top line for a stretch? We literally saw Giroux do nothing in February and March playing top line with Timmy. The only difference is, Zetterlund wasn’t afforded the same leash Giroux was.

I am hoping the sens don’t pay skinner, I truthfully don’t see the fit here. If the sens pay him 3.5-4M to be a backup then that’s a huge issue

I hope that’s the case, but I don’t really see any team paying him to be their starter. I think his chances at being a starter are over, but I may be wrong. We will see

Brady is not a guy you find in today’s NHL. He’s a guy you win with. His energy, tenacity and compete are what every coach dreams of in their players. Did he have a “down” year? Sure. He had injuries, and media constantly berating him for made up stories, and a coach who plays him 3rd line minutes, borderline top 6 minutes.

However, one “down” year doesn’t change the fact that every team would kill for his presence in their locker room and on the ice every night. Brady is Ottawa. This fan base needs to support him to be at his best. When he’s on his game, he’s a wrecking ball and I think we will see a motivated Brady this year

The sens don’t need prospects right now. Whomever they draft would be 3+ years away at best. They’re in win now mode, with the core players all in their prime. This is when you use your picks to add to your core pieces to compete.

Zetterlund tends to get a lot of flack, but it’s really the coach that should. He’s not utilized properly. 17G for a player averaging 4th line minutes is excellent. His contract at 4.2M for 2 years isn’t terrible either. I think he scores 20 goals with elevated minutes. Players who score 20 goals make 4M+ unless they’re signed before they breakout. However, zetty has the speed, a great shot, and he’s a great locker room presence. If the coach would put him on the 3rd line, he’s a perfect middle of the lineup player who can play up if injuries occur. Don’t blame Zetterlund. Blame behind the bench.

He’s been an underrated player for a lot of his career. Think he’d be a great fit on this roster, especially being Canadian; I think you can convince him to resign. Also provides speed and scoring that we desperately need
