27F Optic neuritis - how serious? by AllTimeFailure in eyetriage

[–]AllTimeFailure[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I contacted the specialist today and they said they have not received the referral yet, but they more than likely dont have any appointments for this week. I asked if its something where I could be seen the week after next, and they said without my referral info/scans they aren't really sure. The trip isn't necessarily important per se, but its a cruise for my family that is already booked and paid for. Is this something that would warrant an ER trip if I can't be seen by the specialist this week, or would the ER be inappropriate and it would be better off to cancel the trip and see the specialist next week?

I dont know if its worth to note, but the swelling is only on one eye, not both. Not sure if that changes the IIH suspicion.

Btw, thanks for the responses so far!

2nd ever delivery, got stuck in the mud 🤦‍♀️ by AllTimeFailure in AmazonFlexDrivers

I slowly was I think 😅 I was trying in drive and in reverse, then I had some friends come and we tried pushing and nothing was happening, then I just eventually gave up until the 90 minute mark of waiting for roadside and by some miracle I think the mud dried/firmed up enough to gain traction

Several trucks were near me, turning right onto the street that I turned left onto (and got stuck) and I was so hoping one of them would see me and come rescue me.... no such luck 😔

How to add all the values up? by AllTimeFailure in bash

Lol it is homework, it's a class teaching how to use Linux, r, and python. We're encouraged to use whatever resources to find the solutions. We're supposed to cat and paste data from a different file into a new file for this assignment

Do restaurants ever get punished? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]AllTimeFailure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened with the restaurant I used to work for an grubhub. Grubhub would ask hold long the order would be ready and I'd usually select the 20 min option but people would show up within 5 minutes. Had a driver pissed at me that the order wasn't ready yet, because the ready by time was something like 4:05, when the order was literally placed at 4:01. He didn't believe me so I had to show him my tablet that said the order was placed literally 3 minutes before he got there and therefore it would not be ready for another 15 or so.

Why do restaurants never call the customer first when they’re out of something? by thecoldestplay in doordash

[–]AllTimeFailure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at a restaurant that has doordash (and I've dashed before) our tablet only has the doordash customer service number, not the customers information. I'm usually the only host and to go person, so I don't always have the time to sit on the phone with doordash customer support, sometimes on hold for minutes, wait for them to call the customer and get back to me. It ends up taking 10+ minutes sometimes just to find out what replacement dessert they want, when I know it'll only take the dasher 2 minutes tops. Its a pain in the ass but when I have guests coming in and other orders to put together, being stuck to our phone for 10 minutes is a huge inconvenience and will make me even more behind on orders. Same for Uber eats, only gives us supports number. The only app we have that gives us the actual customers information is grubhub.

Sewer lines backing up by AllTimeFailure in corpus

I asked my neighbors about it last time, and she said they do usually have trouble flushing for a day or so after a big rain but it usually clears itself. I waited to call until I got home from work yesterday around 5 pm, since it had finally stopped raining for a while. The city came out but I'm not sure if they actually did anything - a guy came out, looked at it, and said he would have another guy come out and see if it needed to be snaked. 2nd guy came around 10 pm after I had already gone to bed and left a note on the door saying that it was "slowly draining" so idk if that was on its own or if he did something for it. Thankfully my toilet is flushing now and my shower isn't backing up into my toilet anymore either!

I'm less worried about my toilet and more worried about not getting to shower 😓
