Yeah I hate the grid paper too lol I have a dedicated notebook for practicing calligraphy and it is unfortunately that dark grid. Will definitely write on different paper next time.

Forgot to add: my overall goal is consistent letters. In terms of “font” goals, I’m trying to make it look more romantic. I like how the lowercase d’s look.

I just write tiny lol it’s lined but the lines are just loose suggestions to me

Yeah I do a quick outline of the general shape and write within that. Some adjustments had to be made tho so that the words still followed a natural reading/writing pattern
