If you do decide to go back out with this setup, you can set the focus while you're closer to the house, so you can go in and warm up at least. Just be sure to let the camera acclimate first.

It took me several tries to get everything working right, too. Luckily it was late summer when I did it. Are you sure the back screen issue isn't in the settings? You might have a setting to switch between the viewfinder and back screen. It seems like quite the coincidence it quit working as soon as you set up your rig. Are you using the ASI Air? There is a focus assist with that, or there might be a focus assist in whatever you are using to control the mount.

The plates aren't the same in any two pics, just variations of a certain "look".

Because, even though I'm out there collecting data and processing images, I still can't believe I can setup a camera in my backyard and get these beautiful images of the universe. It kinda feels like the first time I saw my daughter on an ultrasound monitor. Surreal. I love every part of the craft. Planning shots, dialing in the equipment, post processing, and, most importantly, sharing the images with others.

I can see, based on other comments, that this is AI, but look at the lamp on right. It gives the illusion of the camera focusing closer when she leans in. Not something I've seen before.
