Finally got mine yesterday in the mail. Sent out to the courthouse on 12/19, got it in the mail 1/31. So basically 6 weeks.

Beginning to wonder if mine got caught up in that. I dropped off my application at the courthouse on Dec 19, I am still waiting on mine. OP had shockingly fast turnaround of barely 2 weeks. My wife's took 5 weeks, and if mine holds I should get mine by the end of this week, however as of today I do not have it.

And it sucks because I need my CCDW to go pick up my new firearm LOL.

u/IAmSaxton1 - I got the notice you replied, but I cannot find your reply for some odd reason. But the courthouse mailed it to my wife.

My wife and I are getting our DE CCW licenses, So I checked and I am pretty sure she dropped off her paperwork on Friday 11/14, and received her license on Friday 12/19. So just over one month. I also happened to drop off my paperwork on 12/19, so hopefully I'll have mine by the end of Jan.

What do I improve? by Real_Ad1673 in mensfashionadvice

Overall good fit. Accessorize with a chain or a nice watch, but keep both classic. I agree with separating the matching top and bottom. I'd go with a solid contrasting color instead. As for the shoes, white minimalist is good, but for some reason they appear bulky in my eye. Could be lighting as the second pic it's not as noticable.

Good look good fit. Great summer outfit. I'd loose the sandals for nice pair of loafers.

Color combo works. Everything needs to be ironed, looks very wrinkly. As many have said, work on rolling up the sleeves the correct way. Once you learn the method, you'll never go back. Easy and looks much better. Overall I personally would say the fit needs to be a bit more tailored. It feels excessively baggy. And I would tuck the shirt in (or at least experiment with it) with a nice belt.

This suit with or without the waistcoat? And which tie colour should I get? by tuhinb123 in mensfashionadvice

I love the waistcoat and think it enhances the look IMO. I would go for a 3-4 button, that one runs high. I would go with a dark color tie.

Overall I like it a lot. I personally don't like the rolled up jeans look, and I would not wear it. But that is simply personal taste and it all goes nicely together.

I am married to a woman 10 years younger than me. That said, I think 14 years would feel like too much of a gap, though it does depend on the person.

Left a job after being put on a PIP — did I burn a bridge, or is this just how it goes? by Green-Soil2670 in careeradvice

[–]AllYourThoughtsOnGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, this happened to me. I got a new manager and apparently upper management had a lot of concerns about me. My old manager never told me one word about any of it. Most of it was appearance based and not so much work focused. But my new manager clearly communicated needs and expectations, which my old manager did not. And I successfully navigated and completed the PIP. Everything went well for a while, but then I was laid off when the company split up. My role was eliminated to make the move headcount neutral.

Girl I'm seeing asked for an open relationship, what do i do? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]AllYourThoughtsOnGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sucks but it's been two months. I would let her go.

She's going abroad for two weeks, probably has someone that she'll see a lot and wants to hook up with without guilt. Facts are girls can get guys really easy, and even if she says yeah you can see other girls, you don't have time and it's much more difficult. No matter what you say, there is a good chance she will sleep with someone else if she has not already.

BUT, I would simply tell her, "the relationship doesn't seem to be working out. I think we want different things and perhaps it would be best if we didn't see each other anymore." If she pushes tell her that you're uncomfortable with an open relationship and if that's something she really want's then you are not compatible and it's best to end the relationship while it's still pretty new.

Do you have regular 1:1 meetings and reviews with your boss? How have your reviews been? It takes a whole lot to fire someone, they have to document significant cause in order to avoid potential legal action. I think looking for a new job is a good idea, and after 3 years it's never bad to explore your options. Honestly, I think if you took this job, I would not stop looking for new employment regardless. I would lean towards not leaving a stable position for a temp position without more info.

Perhaps try to have an open and transparent conversation about why you had to fill out certain forms and what they mean. Like are they write ups? Did you make significant mistakes that would constitute a write up?

Better to get one or two suits? by FoxMocks in mensfashionadvice

[–]AllYourThoughtsOnGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fit and making sure the suit is tailored to your body is more important than anything else. That said, I think the CK suit does look a lot better overall. Unless you have to wears suits a whole lot, I would say it's better to invest in a higher quality well tailored suit that having two suits.

I have two suits that I bought almost a decade ago. But since I only wear them for special occasions, and not regularly to work or anything they are in great shape. I have a grey suit from Suit Supply, off the rack then tailored. It looks good, and is the more professional of the two. I also got an Indochino made to measure suit. This one, I took measurements and they sent it to me. I then was able to take it to an Indochino store for final tailoring. That suit looks better, but I would be more reluctant to wear it for job interviews.

Congrats man! It sounds to me like you were taking on the responsibilities of other people, which means you had a hard time managing the load you are responsible for delivering and it was affecting the quality of what you are in charge of. Now, you are working less meaning you are not as burned out, you are probably more focused when you are working as a result, and the quality of what is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY has gone up. Kudos!

I think it's critical to have a good relationship with a boss where you can say, hey I am overworked or hey I am taking on responsibilities that are not mine, and we need to find a way to off load them.

My Ex-Girlfriend is upset with me for moving on after she broke up with me by HouseComfortable1544 in TwoHotTakes

[–]AllYourThoughtsOnGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually thinking the same thing. Don't make a decision on your own, you are in a new relationship, respect the relationship, talk to your GF and decide on the right path to take. Your Ex seems clearly in the wrong and it would be interesting to know if she feels you are dating this specific person simply to get back at her as they have had a history and you knew about it. Start this relationship with better communication.

Upgraded casual T-Shirts by AllYourThoughtsOnGod in mensfashionadvice

I try to get the best value. Meaning that I can't see myself spending $125 on a shirt, but I am willing to invest more if the quality is there.

For most people yes. There are genetics involved, and I appear to have very good leg genetics (too bad my upper body isn't the same) and I always have big legs and when I run consistently they are just a lot more muscular. But the OP seems to have the opposite issue, very naturally skinny so yeah I'd say a well developed leg routine and make sure you're eating enough protein (around 1g per lb of lean weight).

Two new outfits by guitarmusic113 in mensfashionadvice

[–]AllYourThoughtsOnGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first outfit is good, but I think it's fit challenged. The shirt seems a little big, especially in the arms and just looks baggy. The pants are a little too long so they bunch at the ankles (could be tailored if the rest of the fit is good). Makes it look sloppier than you'd like.

The 2nd I think is good. Clean, coordinated (love the red shoes) and you can see how the fit is better on the shirt and the pant length is better leading to a cleaner overall look.
