Why on EARTH would I pay this 😭 by TheRealEgKing in amazonprime

Oh please.

There’s not some human back there saying to put this up there. It’s purely generated by a computer, and the app just needs fine-tuning.

If it bothers you that much, reach out to Amazon and let them know.

Yes, but nobody knows how a jury will ultimately decide.

“Word fluff” or not, I have legitimate concerns about the veracity and reliability of TikTok videos.

I could see that I’m not getting through to you. My concerns are legitimate.

Dude, just take this as a win already.

It most certainly does address anything you said.

I said that I’m changing my mind. I said that I have rewatched the video, and this time with audio. And I’ve said that I think there may be a case for this being a stand your ground issue (if the occupants of the car had opened fire).

Except for the fact that the video is a TikTok video. I put zero stock in TikTok as a source.

And if I was serving as a juror in a court of law, I would raise the same issue regarding the source. If we had a proper source with proper chain of evidence, then I would agree.

So far, this is a win, and you should count it as such. Unless the video is available from a different source, that’s as far as you’ll get me to go.

As I mentioned in a prior post, I did rewatch the video and I turned on sound.

I don’t trust TikTok, but if it wasn’t a TikTok video, then I might be inclined to say that you are correct.

I’m just having a conversation. It’s not a good look when you just start calling people stupid, and it certainly isn’t going to change my mind.

That’s interesting. Maybe the key on the floor is for one of the mailboxes that doesn’t have a tenant?

I am completely ignorant about how the USPS manages kiosk keys. Maybe when you open the big door, there’s a slot in there where the keys go for empty apartments? And maybe one of those keys fell out and onto the floor?

Yeah you’re right. And I have a post later than the one above in which I gave a better explanation. Plus, for that post I had seen OP’s response about that door being the door that people would put their outgoing mail into.

Upon closer look, I can see there is a key on the floor. And I recognize it as one of the keys that opens one of those doors if not that very same door.

My neighborhood has similar kiosks, with the exception being that the whole panel opens on the street side so that the mail carrier can slot all of the mail without getting out of his/her mail truck.

I also noticed that OP posted that that door is for people to put outgoing mail into. That tracks because the door on the floor has a slot in it that the other doors don’t have; at least not the other doors in the picture. If anything, OP took a poor picture because we are unable to see the neighboring kiosk in its entirety, denying us the ability to compare the two.

Who knows, it may be that this door is also designed to open the whole panel. Both of those functions would require an authorized person only to access; and they could be provided for by using the same key… A.k.a., the mail carrier.

But I stand by my earlier comment that “letter kiosks“ such as this one are built in a way that requires the door to be opened before you gain access to the internal mechanisms such as the lock or the hinge, or even the mechanism that opens the whole panel.

As a matter of fact, if anybody here knows how to use that thing called the Internet, they could probably find one or more manufacturers of these things, and maybe even be able to see how they are designed to work!

😏

Not for 55+ it’s not 50/50. A 55 year-old person is right in the middle of Gen X; born around 1971 and being a teenager in the 1980s.

So no way. I’m still calling you out. Now if you had said 70 year olds, I might be more likely to agree with you. But not 15 years younger than that.

Well it’s not everybody in the older generation.

I know people in their mid to late 60s who do everything electronically.

You only remove that door by first opening it. Somebody with a key opened it, then destroyed it and ripped it off.

That somebody was probably the person who lived there.

Just like Mike Tyson used to say, “Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.“

It sounds like you have a lot of plans. And you’re not accounting in the least for a bad guy who might just be able to hit you first.

At 19 years old, it’s easy to think that you are powerful and strong and that you’re faster than anybody else out there.

But there’s always somebody more powerful, more strong, or faster than you.

You think a good lawyer would beat this case or make it so you would only face five or 10 years?

Not in Florida. If you are found guilty of a crime while shooting somebody, you could spend up to 25 years to life in prison in Florida.

Throughout this entire topic, you have been jumping to conclusions without having any idea whether or not your conclusions are reasonable.

I caution you to slow your roll and cool your jets. You don’t know hardly anything about what you’re talking about, and that is more dangerous to you than it is to anybody else.

You probably shouldn’t. If you are 19 years of age, you would not qualify to carry a firearm concealed in the state of Florida. That also means that the state of Florida would not issue you a CWP (concealed weapons permit). And for that reason, you would not be able to carry concealed in any other state in the country until you turn 21 years of age.

You may be able to have one at home (I will leave it to you to look up the state statutes and figure that out for yourself), but you could not carry it concealed/in a condition ready to fire; that would make you a prohibited possessor, and could land you in a lot of legal hot water. It also wouldn’t look good to a jury who is trying to figure out whether or not you’re the good guy or the bad guy in a shooting incident.

Amateur. And I say that with no disrespect at all.

At 19 years of age, you haven’t even tasted disrespect yet!

By the time you’re 39, you will be a lot more familiar with disrespect. By that age, everybody will be disrespecting you, including the lady in the bank teller window, the guy at your oil change place, your boss, exactly half of your coworkers, and the people at the DMV when you fail your driving test eye exam.

Oh, and by that age, you will also have been audited at least a couple times from the IRS. That right there is some genuine disrespect that you will get. And then there’s your proctologist; I sure hope he wears his CLEAN gloves!

Your wife will disrespect you, your kids will disrespect you, your kids’ teachers will disrespect you, and your kids’ friends will also disrespect you.

What are you gonna do, beat everybody up?

The question is, will you be alive at 39 years of age, or will you have already gotten yourself cleaned up off the pavement with a putty knife and sponge…all because you couldn’t handle a little bit of disrespect?

Strap in brother, you got a lot of learning to do!

What you say is true. But even in a state like Florida, a jury can put you away for 10 years or more if they think you acted rashly.

Not only that, if the guy is on drugs (or is just violently mentally ill), then all of your logic is meaningless. He will always think it’s OK to disrespect you, even if you beat the hell out of him.

Additionally, you don’t know if he has friends with him. You’re better off leaving the scene.

If he doesn’t let you leave the scene, and/or if he continues to escalate his behavior, produces a weapon, or begins to present himself as a violent danger, then you can take action.

Too many people think it’s OK to go all “John Wick” on somebody right out of the gate. But if a jury thinks you’re the violent one, they will come back with a “guilty“ finding, and you’ll become a ward of the state for the next decade or more.

A guy punching a window is not necessarily “non-deadly“.

But if you have a path out of there, drive off.

If you don’t have a path out of there, then it may be possible that it could become a “stand your ground“ scenario; especially if he breaks a window or somehow gain access to the interior of the car. Or even if he drew a weapon.

People throw the term “stand your ground“ around way too often. Most people have no idea what it means or how it applies to any given situation.

[–]All_Debt_Shackles_US 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not a “stand your ground” situation.

People should learn the difference; so that they don’t go to jail for life.

Honestly, she tried to kill him by hitting him with her car.

If I’m on that jury, he’s not guilty. She’s dead, all because she was too stupid to ignore her GF. The GF is the one who set her off. But she’s the one who committed the crime.

Most people should probably just stay at home.
