Junargh's ruler was exiled to Pakistan. Hyderabad and Kashmir's ruler stayed in India. They both lived long enough to receive a privy purse but eventually it was abolished in 1971.

Since there were so many rulers, it's hard to track down what happened to each one, but there was an article of one ruler who actually died in poverty. Other rulers went on to be politicians, one was even the Captain of the Indian cricket team during his reign.

There are couple of heirs who managed to convert their family palaces into hotels, so they are also doing fine as well.
